Here we have a 1971 Dodge Challenger RT for sale. This car has had a meticulous Rotisserie Restoration done on it and features the Matching Numbers 383 with original Broadcast Sheet. We purchased it from a gentleman that had owned it since 1993. In the paragraphs to follow we will give a brief description of the exterior, interior, and driveline of the Dodge, but first we would like to tell you a little about us.
Smoky Mountain Traders is a classic car dealer in east Tennessee. We are family owned, operated, and own our entire inventory, no consignments, and only deal in muscle cars and vintage auto. You can count on us to have 70 to 80 cars at all times. We don't have a big show room that our customers would otherwise pay for. So, that's how we can sell for less than other dealers. To contact us for more information, pictures, or any questions call our office at (865)988-8088 or visit our SmokyMountainTraders website.
We will start off with the exterior of this Challenger. The body on this car is one of the best you're going to find. All the gaps are even and symmetrical, you can also see the body lines are killer on it. It's done in the factory color scheme with the Bright Red paint that's accented by the Black RT Stripes and Black Vinyl Top. This is one of the nicest restorations we've seen on a Mopar and the paint is no exception. It's been polished out to a mirror finish that's slick as ribbon. The body is laser straight and all the chrome and stainless looks like new from the bumpers to the drip rail molding. It has the correct J54 RT Hood and its also optioned with the driver remote mirror and dual exhaust with the chrome tips. To finish off the look it's sitting on a set of 15" Magnum 500 Wheels with Firestone Wide Oval Tires.
Next, we will look at the interior of the RT. On the inside, it's also done in the correct combo. It has the Black Vinyl Seats with the Buckets and Console that has the wood grain accent and houses the Automatic Shifter. The door panels are also done in black and have the wood grain trim that accents the console and gauge cluster. Looking at the dash it has the gauge pack with the 150 speedo and factory tach. The dash pad is in excellent condition and it still has the stock style radio. Also, the headliner is done in Black and the dome light is working. Inside the trunk, it's painted body color like it should be. It comes with the mat, spare, and jack.
Finally, we will look at the driveline of the Dodge. Under the hood everything looks like it would have when new with the inner fenders and firewall being painted body color. The power comes from the Matching Numbers 383 that's mated to the Matching Numbers 727 Torque Flite Trans, and the rear end is a 8 " with 3.23 Gears. The exhaust flows thru stock manifolds and dual exhaust. For brakes, it has the standard four-wheel drum, but it does have Power Steering. This is a Factory Air Condition car it's working. Also, it comes with front and rear sway bars. When you look under it the floors are painted body color and it's detailed every bit as nice as the top. It has new brake and fuel lines along with a new tank.
