A '64 Dart, frame-off restored in 1992; and powered with a 340 cubic inch engine

1964 Dodge Dart GT

This car was frame-off restored in the early-90's in Southern California. For the rest of that decade, it showed very well on the Southern Californian car show circuit, winning many best of show awards, stock, race car, and A-body modified categories. The original 273 c.i. engine was replaced with a 1970 340 cubic inch with these features:

• DC 272 degree Cam
• Ported and polished heads
• 2.02 intake
• 1.60 exhaust
• Edelbrock intake port matched
• Mallory ignition
• Carter 4 barrel carburetor
• Custom headers and exhaust.
• The transmission is a B&M 904, converter and shifter.
• The rear end is 83/4, 3.23 to 1.

And did I mention fast? Yes, it is fast! Disc brakes front, drums in rear. The odometer is working and shows the mileage at 77,300, but I can't guarantee that with the new engine. The interior and upholstery is in remarkably good condition. Included is a very nice waterproof custom fitted SealSkin car cover.
Back in the 1990's, lacquer was used for car painting, but it has a shelf life of about 20 years. The lacquer is failing on certain areas on the car, and to restore to a truly show car condition, it would have to be repainted with acrylic. I have done a little work on it, and as it stands now, one has to look hard to see where the lacquer paint is weakening. It is sharp looking and a really cool daily driver. And I can confidently say this car is rust free.
Why selling? I own several period-correct restored vehicles, and am thinning the herd by a few cars. This is the last one to go, maybe. I love this little Dart and am reluctant to sell it. Am willing to consider a trade for a stock, period correct pick up truck, not a street rod. Let me know if there are more specific pictures I can text or email.
