Description:

1970 Dodge Challenger R/T

Due to unfortunate left foot and knee injuries, I am sadly having to sell my 1970 Dodge Challenger. I looked for a long time for a 4 speed car and purchased her early last year from a great guy who rebuilt her and had owned her for over 30 years. She is a big block car from the factory, "L" code, 1 of 952 big block Challenger coupes and 1 of 96 with Cream exterior paint. The parts donor car which was wrecked back in the day was an R/T big block 4 speed car, "N" code, 1 of 2720 4 speed big block coupes. Pictures are included of the donor car. Going along with the sale are the 2 fender tags from each vehicle to back up the facts I am presenting. In addition to the running train, most all the options on the R/T were transferred to this car, as well as parts from other cars that were readily available in 1988-1989. She is powered by a rebuilt 1971 "G" code 440 ci engine. Recently, an 11/69 date coded cast iron OEM six pack manifold and air cleaner was obtained and installed. The center carb and rear carb are brand new from Holley, and the front carb has been rebuilt. They still could use a bit more syncronization but she does start and run ok. She has a 3.23 Sure Grip 8&3/4 "489 chunk" rear. 15" Rallye wheels with excellent tires, and front disc brakes. AM FM Cassette radio installed without cutting the dash. Rallye dash functional, with added aftermarket gauges under the radio. The paint is as old as the entire rebuild of the car - 30+ years! Rear quarters were heightened in 1989 to show the entire rear wheel. Interestingly enough, the new Challengers have the same style rear quarters :-). Exhaust system consists of Hooker Pro series headers and original pipes and mufflers, all original again to pre 1989. She is 49 years old, has her body flaws and minor items typical of her age, yet is a great looking, fun to drive powerful beast. If you are looking for a $100K trailer queen move on to the next ad. If you are looking for a head turning, fun driving car that you can actually tinker with, personalize and enjoy, then you are in the right place. She is insured with Hagerty, who set her value as described at $39,000.00. The winning bidder will be responsible for transporting her to her new home. I have clear title in my name as well as a copy of the previous one. I'm sure there are other details I am missing but feel free to ask any questions and I will post responses. I will accept a PayPal deposit, then a wire transfer, cash or certified check for the remainder of the payment. If paying by check, car nor title will be released until a ten (10) day check clearing period transpires. Thanks for looking, feel free to ask questions before you bid, and good luck bidders!
