1970 Dodge Challenger 2-Door Hardtop Coupe Plum Crazy Color - Built 360ci V8 w/TorqueFlight 904 - Folder of Documentation (Please note: If you happen to be viewing this vehicle on a website other than our main website, it's possible that only some of our many photographs of this car are presented due to website limitations. To be sure you access all the photographs, please go to our main website: Garage Kept Motors.) Garage Kept Motors is excited to offer this... Plum Crazy Mopar for your consideration. Rebuilt with care by Mopar fanatic and also hiding a healthy V8 engine under the hood. This is a great example of the car-show/summer drive-in 1970 Challenger.  Still finished in the original color combination of 'Plum Crazy' with yellow stripe...Dodge did it right! The drivetrain was quite an important component of the rebuild, as our client bought the car without an engine.  This Challenger originally left the factory with the optional 'Engine Package' 340ci V8 w/4BBL carb, and optional TorqueFlite transmission.  While not the original engine under the hood, a great deal of work has been performed to the powerplant by C-Tech, a local engine shop in West Michigan.  The result is not only a 360ci V8 (a punched out 318ci V8) nestled in a tidy engine bay, but a baseline dyno of 341 horsepower was achieved after initial assembly. The transmission is a TorqueFlite 904, with a nicely appointed B&M shifter. Our client's aim was to build a reliable, streetable drivetrain with plenty of power on tap when you put your foot down. We'd say that he's achieved just that, and in a stunning body. This car also features power steering and upgraded power brakes (discs up front) - it was originally optioned with HD Drum brakes as part of the Challenger Performance Package (Code A66). The interior is impeccable.  Hop in, and if you're quiet enough, the first thing you will hear is the clock running.  Wood trim surrounds the 5 round gauges, and switches on the Rally dash. The optional Rally dash on this car included electric clock, 8k tachometer, and 150mph speedometer. Other original interior options include power windows, Music Master radio, and electric rear window defroster. Everything inside the car looks as new, and will take you back to the great muscle car era of the early-70's. When in the driver's seat you'll feel as though you should be wearing some polyester pants and platform shoes, but we'll let you decide the attire. Regardless of your getup, we guarantee you'll enjoy the point at which you turn the key and the 360ci V8 jumps to life.  This Challenger left the Hamtramck assembly plant finished in a very unique exterior color combination that includes the Plum Crazy (C7) paint color with a bumblebee rear stripe in Yellow (V9Y). Mounted on each end of the car are re-chromed bumpers, and mounted above the rear bumper are re-chromed tail light bezels. During the rebuild, the only sheet metal replaced was the rear quarter panels. Once satisfied with the body, our client had the car repainted in the original Plum Crazy with Yellow 'bumblebee stripe'. Other exterior touches are cowled hood (part of the Performance Package), dual exhaust with chrome exhaust tips, and optional chrome racing mirror. This Plum Crazy Challenger demands attention. Such a great color for an awesome Mopar muscle car! Included with the sale is an article featuring this car at an auto detailing convention, a handful of receipts and records, and a copy of the original window sticker, which indicates the car was delivered new to Courtesy Dodge, which is just down the road from our showroom.
