Purchased from the original owner and owned by a professional machinist since 1972.
Re-powered with a Dodge 440 big block V8 from a 1976 Police Interceptor.
The engine was rebuilt 11/8/1990 at 70,470.
The engine was bored 30 over, has forged pistons, chrome molly rings, hardened valve seats, performance camshaft, new oil pump, all new bearings and balanced, new water pump, Mallory Unilite distributor and coil, Edelbrock performer carburetor, Edelbrock aluminum intake, K&N air filter, 7 quart oil pan and a windage tray.
The engine runs good and makes very good power.
4 speed manual transmission with 2 speed transfer case and locking hubs.
Dana 44 front and Dana 60 rear axle with locking rear differential.
New flywheel and clutch at the same time as engine build.
The steering box was re-machined for Timken tapered roller bearings and the truck steers very well.
Later model power brake booster and 4 wheel drum brakes.
Recently replaced were the radiator core, starter, clutch master and slave cylinder.
This truck still has the original paint.
Factory camper mirrors.
The body and frame are in good condition with minor surface rust, this has always been a west coast truck.
Original 383 engine was running when removed, original engine is included.
Original tail gate is included.
All original notes, receipts and technical manual are included. 3 fuel tanks, currently be run on the main tank.
PTO winch works correctly. All around a solid, good driving rare old truck. Not many of these around.
