Body is in great shape as in no rust. Floors, door jambs, rocker panels, toe kicks etc are all 98.9% solid with just a few spots of surface rust (see pics).
The roof top is just limited to surface rust. The rain gutters in rear got affected enough to where the previous owner used a fiberglass layer to protect and stop any cancerous rust from eating away. There is one spot up on the front right top of windshield area where they fixed a spot with a patch of sealant.
Doors open and close squarely and nice.
All the glass is in great shape and is all original glass to the Van. The front windshield seals are cracking and shrinking and should be replaced.
Engine runs great, a little cold blooded but warms up. There is an oil leak either from the valve cover or pan gasket that accumulates down below.
The transmission shifts well and does not have any leaks.
Rear u-joints or wheel bearings are making a slight hum when driving at speed, that should get some attention.
Head Lights, High Beams, Tail lights, Fuel Gauge, Temp Gauge, Speedometer etc all work. (left signal is out)
Brakes stop well but do tend to stick occasionally, I would look into the brake system and get it serviced just to be safe.
Heater and Blower works, the center control on dash is a plastic mount and dose have a crack
HISTORY: The A100 is an American compact Van marketed from 1964 to 1970 by the Chrysler Corporation under the Dodge marque in the United States.
The A100 competed with the Ford Econoline, Chevrolet Van and the Chevy Corvair Greenbrier as well as the Volkswagen Type 2.
The versions included a pickup truck and Van body, both with a "forward control" design. Placing the driver on top of the front axle with the engine near the front wheels calling it a "cab over " vehicle. The nose was flat, with the engine placed between the driver and passenger, who sat above the front axle.
The unibody vans used a short 90inch wheelbase. An A108 version was also available from 1967 to 1970, with a longer 108inch wheelbase.
The A108 was popular with camper conversion companies
Overall the Van is in pretty nice shape, body sides and bumpers have some dings as you can see but overall is pretty straight with a nice vintage patina look. The paint is original, glass is original and appears well taken care of the past 51 years. This is a Sportsman model van, came with an automatic and an upgraded factory 318 V8.
I had the Van registration on non-operational for awhile but is now registered ready to drive the roadways with September 2019 tags.
Ready for a surf trip, Mexico rally, put 2 bench seats in and use it as a nino transporter, food truck, flower delivery, show van, whatever?
Very cool Van ready for anyone to make it there's and enjoy it.
Just a cool original California Van needing just a little TLC and looking for a good home.
Please ask any questions and or request any pictures and I will do my best to get back to you.
