1966 Dodge Coronet Convertible All-Orig Florida 1-Owner #-s Match
Please Note: There are 75 photos at the end of this description. There is also a video available on my YouTube channel.
You are bidding on an all-original, super-solid, 1966 Dodge Coronet 500 Convertible. This is a 1-owner car from Florida! Very solid and zero rust! She is TURNKEY! This is numbers-matching with a 318ci engine, automatic 727 transmission, power steering and power top! This Coronet was purchased new in Florida. It was brought up in 1990, has not seen rain or snow and has been mostly garage kept. Most everything still works including the radio! The car is very quiet! No squeaks or rattles at all! I see no reason that you couldn't Fly-in and Drive it home!
The Body is very solid, nice, shiny, and straight with one repaint of the original Gold Poly (ZZ1) color about 15 years ago. After the car was brought up from Florida it was only driven in the summer on nice days. Never been in the snow or salt! There are no major dents, dings, or damage to the body except for minor scratches and chips from being driven as a normal car. The body looks to be all-original with no major damage, rust repairs or body work performed. The body is straight and free from rust and bubbles, just wanted to note it for the purists that get picky. The convertible top was replaced in 04, looks good and operates perfectly but there are several small maple sap stains. The plastic window is in like-new condition.
The condition of the chrome and brite work is nice-to-good. Most just needs polishing and buffing and some replacement if you're going to put it into shows. The side mirrors and door handles will need polishing and/or rechroming as the chrome is aged from sitting. Bumpers are nice and straight, and will need the same attention as the door handles if making this a show car. The glass is in great condition with no cracks or delamination. The windows, doors, trunk and hood operate as they should. The weatherstripping appears to be original and in great condition.
The Gold Interior is in great shape with no rodent or mildew smell! The bucket seat covers were replaced in 04 and still look new. Carpet was also replaced in 04. The rest of the original interior looks good with some minor wear. Most everything on the dash works (gauges, lights, directionals, radio HVAC controls etc.) The only thing that's not working is the odometer. It quit working back in the 80's after the car sat for several years. The steering wheelis in great condition with no cracks or damage! The console is in good condition with no cracks or damages. The top chrome plates are pitted from age. The shifter works fine. The car does have all of its seat belts.
The Drivetrain is original and appears to be numbers matching. The 318ci motor runs perfectly, doesn't smoke or make any noises! The owner just drove it an hour in 85-degree weather with no issues or overheat problems. The 727 automatic 3-speed transmission shifts perfectly and operates as it should with no slipping. Power steering is good.
The Undercarriageis in nice condition too. No rust or rot. Floor pans and frame are original and are in great condition. Fuel and brake lines appear to be in good condition as well. Exhaust looks good too! The tires look good with no dry rot and tread looks good but they are older tires which have been sitting so it causes a shake above 40mph - they will need to be replaced if you want the Cadillac ride.
Other info: The car is in pretty much original condition with the following items replaced... 12-volt battery, tires, some hoses, seat covers, carpet, convertible top.
The brakes were overhauled in 2004.
The driver seat position has been modified for a smaller person so it is up higher and further up than normal. The custom tracks that were put in place for this person would need to be removed to put the seat back to a normal position.
This car is pretty much original and being from Florida there will be some fading of the interior. Also some of the chrome and trim have pitting such as the door handles, console top plates etc. This is an original survivor car not a restored car!
Car comes with one set of factory keys and clear Ohio title with 23,200 ACTUAL miles. As previously mentioned, the odometer stopped working in the '80s.
I realize that it is difficult to purchase a vehicle you may not be able to inspect in person. I build vehicles too - so I try to show you everything I would want to see if I was buying a vehicle for myself. As you can see by my feedback (100% positive), I describe my vehicles accurately. I have sold other vehicles on eBay to happy buyers worldwide so you can be confident when making a purchase.
I have made my best effort to accurately represent the car based on my expertise as a vehicle builder, what I have observed in evaluating it and preparing it for sale, and what I have been told by the owner, but this is the extent of my knowledge. Please ask questions before bidding! This is being solid AS IS with no warranty or guarantees and is up to the buyer to verify any and all info listed above in the description! This vehicle is also for sale locally. You are welcome to arrange a viewing of this vehicle. Again, this is a classic vehicle that has been driven and enjoyed. It's not perfect or a museum piece so there may be minor imperfections in the body, brite work and glass. Anything to note is listed above.
Terms: Contact must be made by the buyer within 48 hours and a non-refundable $1,000 Paypal deposit is due within 48 hours of end of auction close, balance due within 7 days of auction close as cash or bank wire only. Due to space limitations and other upcoming auctions, buyer MUST take possession within 7 days of auction close unless other arrangements are agreed upon. I do not finance. No trade or barter.
I am not responsible for any fees or taxes associated with registration, license plates or any out-of-pocket costs. Nor am I responsible for emissions compliance. Buyer is responsible for all state, county, city taxes & fees as well as title, registration, license plates and emissions compliance in the State/County that the vehicle will be registered. No warranty, sold as is.
Shipping is the Buyer's responsibility. I will not ship but will work with your shipping company. A list of contact information for some of the shipping companies previous Buyers have used can be provided upon request for your quotation and shipping needs. Pick-up arrangements (by the Buyer or the shipping company) must be coordinated in advance to insure myavailability since I am often in and out on business. Local delivery may be possible within 200 miles of zip code 44056 for an extra charge. Buyer is responsible for all shipping and related arrangements and payments. Vehicle must be paid in full before it leaves my premises.
Insurance: I highly recommend that the buyer put insurance on the vehicle upon purchase as I am not responsible for any damage incurred after leaving my premises.
Good luck and happy bidding!
