1984 Dodge Other Pickups

Up for bid is a restored, award winning, 1984 Dodge Rampage.

This is a 1984 Dodge Rampage in its original silver (fresh paint) with matching new interior. This is an extremely nice Rampage as you will see from the pics. Starts every time and runs great! There is no rust and it is super-clean inside and out, inside the bed and underneath too! The car was restored by the previous owner who passed away, and this was his pride and joy. I believe he was the second owner. The first owner was GTE of Erie Pennsylvania, so it started life as a radio-delete, non-AC company car. There's even a GTE yardstick in the car.

I've owned the car for about two years and it has only been used for shows. I'm selling to make room for a new toy that's on the way. I will include the trophies (from the previous owner) if the winner would like them. The car comes with the original owner's manual.

This is a still a non-AC, although it now has a more modern Mopar stereo with speakers located on the package shelf behind the driver and passenger. Mileage is 138,636, but it's been rebuilt and runs and performs like a new car. A binder comes with the car that shows everything the previous owner did as well as his research into the history of the car.

Since I've owned it, I replaced both front axels because the rubber boots were getting frayed. I also refinished the original wheels and added the whitewall tires. When I bought the car, the wheels were covered by hubcaps. I removed them, refinished the wheels and added back the trim rings. I also changed the center wheel caps to a set of NOS "flat" caps. The three-dimensional caps are present and included with the sale, as are a set of refinished 14" Dodge Aries rims with non-black wall tires (see the included pic).

The car will come with two rear bumpers. The bumper that came with the car has a custom tow-hitch attached and the end caps have been removed and the bumper ends welded closed (see pic). I'm sure he did this because he could not find bumper ends. Well I found a great set of ends, refinished a bumper, and added to the car. That is what is currently on the car. The wiring to tow is still there and the other bumper can be quickly swapped back in if you want to tow something light with it like a jet-ski. That other bumper is included with the sale and I include a pic (it's the pic with the hubcaps).

The previous owner was a parts hoarder, so if the buyer wants, there is a front bumper, rear tailgate, two fenders, multiple taillights, hubcaps, center caps and a few other things. When he was rebuilding the car, he must have just bought everything to keep improving!

I planned on installing an original and correct center console (rare with these cars), so I purchased one, and restored it. I also purchased the proper mounting bracket. That will come with the car, along with an NOS set of Chrysler rubber floor mats (pic available upon request). I also considered putting in a set of Carrol Shelby (Shelby Charger) seats and door panels (which are in great shape), but I decided to keep it stock since the original seats were reupholstered and are mint. I will offer those to the new owner for a fee if the new owner wants them. The seats and door panels are blue/gray. Putting in the Shelby door panels will allow the use of door speakers without cutting up the stock panels.

I also have an NOS front bra that I will include with the sale. Although I am sure you can drive this anywhere, I don't think all of the parts will fit in the back and don't think you'd want to scratch it all up. When I bought the car, I used a car-hauler that would haul your car and extra parts (he uses a large, enclosed trailer), so there are services available if you need to ship and can't pick-up on your own.

I'm starting the bidding low to see where we end up. The reserve is reasonable (at least in my opinion) because I am a realist and realize these cars aren't Barret Jackson auction cars. My name is John and I can be reached at 518-573-2372 and I will gladly speak to anyone who calls. I have bought and sold a few cars on eBay and expect serious buyers to call to discuss.

I truly believe this is one of the nicest stock Rampages available. And if you want to go back to radio delete, I have the delete plate.

I won't give the car away (because I don't have to), but I will consider any reasonable offer as it is for sale locally and I am getting offers at home. As a result of it being listed locally, I reserve the right to end the auction prior to the reserve being met.

Thanks a lot everyone and happy bidding. I'm sure you will be thrilled with your purchase because it's a great car and I'm throwing in a lot of extra parts (if you want them) that you can sell or hoard!I will store the car for free until you can pick up. Good luck!

ALSO: PLEASE LOOK CLOSELY AT THE AUTOCHECK. THERE ARE NO ISSUE WITH THIS CAR'S HISTORY.

The issues are "exceeds mechanical limits" because of the 5 digit odometer and because there was a long duration (19 years) between mileage notices and the car went from 99K to 138K. I am not hiding the fact that this car has over 100,000 miles. So basically, the car had 99K on it when the previous owner bought it in 1998 and he put 39K on it before he passed away in 2016 or 2017.
