1985 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z. Black on Black leather, 5 speed.
This car is stunning. I haven't seen its turbo Dodge equal. Older Restoration, so not perfect, but no expense was spared. The black paint looks great, leather seats were re-done. New headliner. Full ground effects including the hard to find front air-dam (currently removed). Door window trim is like new and the car presents very, very well.
The turbo 1 power-plant was replaced with a 1989 Turbo 2, super sixty upgrades. The boost setting switch is tastefully hidden where the ashtray used to be. The car looks showroom stock but the blow-off valve between shifts give its secrets away.
It is as fast and looks great.
A few items need to be disclosed, as the car is 33 years old:
The AC does not work, I never diagnosed it. With the moon roof out, it never bothered me.
The cassette deck works, but the sound system overall is disappointing. I am not sure if that is correct for the car, but I doubt it.
Its a PA car, and as such has a couple patches in the floor. I can send pics if you are interested, but the repairs look pretty good. If you want to put mirrors under it, this is not the car for you. Otherwise, the car is solid.
I got caught in the rain with it and discovered that the passenger side wiper doesn't move. Most likely a clip. I didn't run it in the rain, so I didn't bother with the repair.
Other than those couple small items, the car is ready for the show circuit or the track. It won first place in its class last year at a show, and has competed in SCCA style events. The car is very good and will not disappoint. Reliable and great looks....

I have had a couple of questions about the modifications done to the Daytona:
1. 2.2 Liter turbo 2 and tranny from 1989 model2. Super sixty upgrades. It has the computer, turbo, injectors and map sensor. I am not sure about the cam.3. 4 wheel disc brake conversion. The rear brakes are now disc and from a Spirit R/T4. upgraded inter-cooler and blow-off valve.5. I believe that the car is over the 250HP threshold but do not have the supporting Dyno report. It may very well be the full 300+ hp. I would rather understate the car than misrepresent it. Its fast. Very.
When I bought the car, it had been to a speed shop with the prior owner. I am not a fan of speed shops unless they are enthusiasts on the model being serviced. In my judgement the car WAS lacking. So, I reconnected the wastegate and gave the computer back the control it's supposed to have. It runs and drives great now.
