1964-- 4 X 4--DODGE POWER WAGON M43 MILITARY AMBULANCE

THIS IS A COMPLETE UNRESTORED, UNMOLESTED, FACTORY ORIGINAL VEHICLE.

IT IS A TRUE TIME CAPSULE BARN FIND.

RUNS GREAT. Brakes work.It has the factory original 24 volt water proof ignition. All of the factory waterproof wire connections are still intact as seen in the pictures. The 4 wheel drive works great in both high and low. Top speed is 55-60 MPH.

The rear surgery light works. The Ventilators and gas compartment heater unit are intact and the fan comes on when you hit the switch.

The gauges work except the gas gauge. The interior seats have no rips...even on the 4 beds in back.

There is no rust at all except for at the bottom of the back door sheet metal and a little under the front head lights.

The floors, rain gutters and under the vehicle are rust free.

It has a non stock electric fuel pump.

Tail light and blinkers need work.

I was going to make an overland camping vehicle out of it, but I cannot in good conscience cut up this historic vehicle. It should be in a museum.

The story of this vehicle.

I bought this vehicle at a farm auction in Hayward Wisconsin.

I was told by the son that his father who passed away 2 years ago was an ambulance medic in the Viet Nam war.

He told me that he believed this was the Ambulance " LUCILLE" that was used in operation Lam Son, Khe Sahn and Dewey Canyon along the DMZ from Late January 1970 thru March of 1971.

I found 6 pictures in a box in the back of the ambulance that show the vehicle and crew in Viet Nam. All the photos have handwritten notes on them.

I have no way to verify this other than these pictures. But It sure looks like the same M43.

When I started to clean it out it was like Christmas morning it was full of boxes of spare parts, tires and assorted items.

Here is an short list of items that came with the vehicle....Medical kits...IV holders...Full Trauma splint kits...Boxes of spares... brake parts..Ignition Parts...seals...4 helmets... The Factory Pintle TOW BAR and Hitch...Spare transfer case....also a gas mask still in the original can.

Tools...6 spare tires and rims..2 of the tires look new.

It has 4 Litter Cots that slide on to the beds.

The odometer shows 34196....I have driven it about 300 miles

NOTE ... There were 3 ammo boxes full of 30 caliber ammo in the cabinets under the bed. Those DO NOT come with this sale.
