"New front-end styling in 1972 featured a larger “egg-crate” grille. It was painted argent for standard Challengers and black on the Challenger Rallye performance model, hich replaced the R/T. The Challenger’s tail lamp design included twin lights on each side, ith the center panel painted the same color as the grille. The Rallye model was also equipped with four small scoops on the front fenders. Only three engines were available in the 1972 Dodge Challenger: the 225-cubic-inch Slant Six with 110 horsepower, he 318-cubic-inch V-8 with 150 horsepower and the 340-cubic-inch V-8 with 240 horsepower."

For sale by owner is this nice 72 Challenger. This Challenger is a combination of a stock original, ith some cosmetic and mechanical restoration as needed. The current owner received this car as a trade so we don't know everything that has been done over the years. It had an exterior cosmetic restoration completed in the 90's (with some recently done mechanical and interior work) that is starting to show it's age. The interior appears to be original and in good condition. The engine and transmission were rebuilt about 5 years ago with just generalmaintenance since. The undercarriage is solid and clean. The car has the 340 V-8 engine bored .30 over with a mild cam, ated to the slapstick automatic transmission and it has manual steering and brakes. New brakes, rake lines and master cylinder were just installed in March. The gages, ights, ignals, eat and radio are fully operational.
