1968 Dodge Other Pickups Custom cab

Here is is a 1968 Dodge D200 Camper Special Custom Cab in unmolested condition. Here is the story on the truck: The original owner purchased this truck new in Garden Grove California where it spent the first few years of it's life. The owner then retired to Ehrenberg, Arizona where the truck remained until I purchased the truck. The original owner performed maintenance at a local RV park there in Ehrenberg which is where he retired and lived. He passed away in 1993 and had no living relatives to take his belongings. The truck sat at the RV park until I purchased the truck. It had a shell on the truck since new and you will see it in the picture on the trailer when I was bringing it home. When I went to pick up the truck I wasn't sure if I was at an RV park or a wrecking yard because there were junk vehicles all over and it was just deplorable living conditions but people were still living there. The person I dealt with apparently was a representative for the owner of the RV park who told me she had the title for the truck but the park owner was away on a funeral and would be back in a few days and they would mail me the title. I didn't like that but I had driven four hours to get the truck so I took a chance and, you guessed it, I never got the title mailed to me although they said they did put it in the mail. Of course they did...so in any event, there is no title for this truck and you would need to file for an abandon title which entails some paper work and an inspection here in Arizona but check your state's rules for what you would need to do. The truck sat since 1993 in a partially covered area. Ehrenberg is a town on the Colorado river that borders California. If you have ever been in the area they have a lot of wind and dust storms during the monsoon season and, because it sat so long, the doors literally filled up with sand and dirt over the 25 years that it sat idle in the desert. This caused the metal bracket that the door glass sits in to rot and so the glass fell down into the doors on both doors. This also caused the doors to rust through on both doors on the bottoms. I had some extra doors so I put new internal parts in the doors and now the glass is in and windows roll up and down like they should. I was going to use the bottoms of the spare doors for the rust repair and they will go with the truck if wanted. I was going to get this truck running and use it to pull our vintage trailer as my wife and daughter wanted to start doing a little camping and beach runs. In the meantime we adopted three more kids so that ruined that idea and I began to look for a crew cab model to fit all the kids. I found a guy who had two of them here in Arizona so I bought them and that's why I'm selling this truck. I need the space for the crew cabs which I will be picking up in the next few weeks. I did get this truck running and I drove it up and down the street using a small gas can, but it has no brakes and you have to stop it using the emergency brake. The thing fired right up with fresh gas. This truck is really in great condition but will need the typical things done for a vehicle that has sat for 25 years. The bed was protected since new and is perfectly straight inside and out. The original owner had a wood floor inside the camper that leaked and held moisture near the tailgate end of the bed so that's why there is some surface rust at that end of the bed. Both floors need minor repair right at the mounts which is very common on these trucks. Look at the pictures and they should explain the condition of the truck. It is super straight and a great candidate for restoration but it is a project truck. It has great patina and I was going to leave it just like it is on the outside. It has the rare factory power steering and the interior is in great condition. The trim pieces and factory hubcaps are in excellent shape. Gauges work except fuel gauge. Seat needs recovering but the foam is still very firm and comfortable so the fabric deteriorated from time and not use. I've been around these old Dodge trucks for many years and have many parts for them if needed. This is a no reserve auction which I rarely do but I need the space soon as mentioned earlier. Check my feedback and the pictures and bid with confidence. I would be happy to answer any and all questions to the best of my ability. I do recommend visual inspection of the truck if possible. There is a $500 deposit due within 48 hours of the auctions end via Paypal with the balance due within 7 days of the end of the auction. Good luck!
