1994 Dodge Stealth RT/TT 6-Speed AWD Twin Turbo
Remember back in the day where anything mitsubishi made car wise chrysler had a counterpart? Eff the eclipse let me get my hands on that dope a$$ plymouth laser bro. Remember when every decent chrysler V6 was actually a mitsubishi engine? And then Kia started using it too... Remember when because america you could buy a 3000gt with a SOHC turd of an engine? Eff the 3000GT bro let me get my hands on that sweet terribly advertised Stealth RT/TT because calling the RT anything else to make it more clear would have been too hard, just throw some more T's on there! I'm not going to lie here I actually bought this car just to diagnose my 1997 3000GT VR4 that I could not for the life of me or any other mechanic figure out why it has a misfire on 1 and 4, and now that misfire has moved to 3 and 6. I still am no closer to figuring it out and I have used the Stealth as a good running comparison to the extent that I can so it is no longer of use to me. So strange that the modified higher mileage chrysler version of the car is the much more reliable one in this case. Literally while I was trying to figure out the misfire the clutch master cylinder gave out on the 3000GT, just from having to press the clutch in to start it, and it was owned by an OBGYN since new who spend $30,000 maintaining it and it only has like 100k on it. While this 173k mile Dodge hasn't had a single issue the whole time I've owned and driven it. So FML the mystery continues. If you think you can fix the 3000GT you're welcome to come try, I am an ASE master tech an have literally ran every test in the manual, I JUST WANT TO DRIVE THE CAR. But atleast with the cash you give me for this stealth I can buy 1,000 scratch off lottery tickets and get drunk trying to scratch them all off since I have better odds at winning a million dollars than I do at fixing the only 3000GT VR4 ever recorded with this magical mystery of a problem.ANYWAYS. This is an auction for the 1994/96/99 Dodge Stealth RT/TT 6-Speed Twin Turbo AWD AWS Active Suspension Glass Roof black on black beasty. Below are the details.
Exterior: Exterior wise it looks bad ass from 10 feet out, get any closer I give it a 5/10. It has a 99' 3000GT front bumper conversion and a very rare 96' Stealth wing which I personally think is the best looking combo you can do on this chassis. The bumper paint, hatch, and passenger side paint is not original, drivers side is. Car did have some damage to the passenger 1/4 panel back in the day that was professionally repaired but I have seen better jobs. For a racer who gives a $hit but as a collector not the best. The paint is meh, it shines up fine but again it is a nice 10 foot car, not perfect by any means. Has a few dings that is it. All the lights work no cracks in any of the glass or lenses. No water leaks, not really much else to say, wipers all work as do all the doors and such. Hatch and hood struts work fine, power antenna of course does not like every other 90's car. Windows all go up and down, glass roof goes up and down fine and can be removed/stored in the hatch area has latches that hold it. Wing is a little loose just needs the nuts tightened. No rust issues, little bit starting inside the edge of the passenger door that is all I can see, was a southern car all its life from what I'm told.
Interior: Interior is pretty damn clean, 8/10. The interior component quality of these cars was actually really good for a mitsubishi whose interiors usually fall apart, much better than the eclipses. Just look at the pics, everything works, even the A/C unit. Radio works good, all gauges work, has AEM true boost controller and AEM wideband gauge. Missing the spare tire but it has the tools, only one small tear on the front seats no issues with the back, the heel pad on the carpet is missing as are the original floor mats. Sunroof handle is a little loose but works fine.
Mechanical: Mechanical is where this car shines! Car was well taken care of, belts and pumps and oil and etc.... It is mostly stock with fun and expensive bolt ons. Here is a list.
- Full IPS mandrel bent exhaust system including downpipes
- Tubular exhaust manifolds + TD04-15G turbos
- 450cc injectors
- AEM tru boost controller
- AEM wideband gauge
- Simple intake
- Tein lowering springs on fresh electronic struts
- Matching newish continental contipro tires on Saleen copy wheels
- RPM 6 puck sprung clutch w/flywheel
- 99' Lifters
- New coil packs
- Slotted rotors all around
Runs stock boost, runs very strong. No smoke, no leaks (other than the aws hose), no knocking, no check engine light. Transmission shifts smooth into all gears, clutch is great, brakes are great, tires are great, alignment is good, car is very fun to drive and pretty damn fast. Only work it needs in the short term is one power steering hose replaced in the back of the car for the AWS. It has a pretty good leak, the power steering still works fine but it will leak the fluid out until it is empty and then you have no power steering which on this car is not fun. Other than that she is ready to drive home. Fix one hose and you're good to go. Strong oil pressure, does not overheat. With the larger injectors the idle is meh, idles fine just isn't as smooth as stock while the o2 sensor hunts for 14.7:1.
That is about it, if I forgot anything ask away but I think that is pretty much everything. Thanks for looking!
