THIS VAN CAME WITH IT'S ORIGINAL DEALER PLATE FRAMES AND PLATE FILLERS FROM CURTISS DODGE OUT OF DUBLIN CALIFORNIA. THIS VAN STILL HAS ALL IT'S ORIGINAL GLASS THAT RETAINS THE ORIGINAL CALIFORNIA EMISSIONS DECAL IN THE FRONT RIGHT CORNER AND AMAZINGLY AFTER 44 YEARS IT STILL HAS THE ORIGINAL PARKING PERMIT DECALS ON THE REAR BUMPER TO MARIN CALIFORNIA COMMUNITY COLLEGE FOR 1974 & 1975. WHEN WE CAME ACROSS THIS VAN WHAT CAUGHT MY ATTENTION BESIDES ITS KILLER 70'S TIME CAPSULE LOOK WAS IT'S SUPER CLEAN HONEST & ORIGINAL CONDITION. WHEN YOU GO A FEW TIMES AROUND THIS VAN AND REALLY START TO LOOK AT THE LITTLE DETAILS YOU START TO REALIZE AND APPRECIATE HOW MUCH OF A UN-TOUCHED VIRGIN THIS VAN IS. BESIDES THE ORIGINAL COLLEGE DECALS AND GLASS, ONCE YOU POP OPEN THE HOOD YOU WILL NOTICE THE ORIGINAL BRAKE BOOSTER WITH THE ORIGINAL MOPAR DECAL, MANY ORIGINAL GROMMETS, CLAMPS AND THE ORIGINAL ISSUE VINTAGE STANT RADIATOR CAP STILL INTACT ALONG WITH NICE COPPER PAINT AND ORIGINAL CALIFORNIA EMISSIONS DECAL ON THE BOTTOM SIDE OF THE HOOD. WHEN YOU LOOK INTO THE FRONT AND REAR WHEEL WELLS IT'S UNBELIEVABLE THAT IT STILL HAS NICE FACTORY ORIGINAL COPPER PAINT AND NEVER BEEN COVERED IN SPRAY PAINT, ROAD TAR OR THICK GRIME. WHEN YOU OPEN UP THE REAR CLAM SHELL DOORS AND CLIMB IN BACK YOU WILL FIND THE ORIGINAL MATCHING SPARE WITH THE FACTORY JACK, JACK PEDESTAL AND TIRE IRON STILL ATTACHED UNDER THE HUB CAP AND BEHIND THE TIRE AND ALL ARE ITEMS THAT ARE USUALLY LONG GONE WHEN YOU FIND A VINTAGE VAN. WHEN YOU POP OPEN THE SIDE DOORS AND BEGAN TO LOOK AROUND IN THE VAN IT IS ALMOST UNBELIEVABLE HOW NICE AND UN-USED THE REAR CARGO AREA IS. THERE IS NOTHING BUT BEAUTIFUL DEEP AND GLOSSY COPPER PAINT. THERE HAS NEVER BEEN WORK SHELVES PUT IN, NO TOOL BOXES ADDED, NO TOOLS THROWN IN AND OUT AND THE FLOORS HAVE VERY LITTLE WEAR AND ALSO STILL HAVE NICE ORIGINAL COPPER PAINT. THESE VANS WERE BUILT AND MARKETED AS WORK VEHICLES AND BOUGHT BY OWNERS AND COMPANY'S TO BE WORKED, USED AND MOSTLY WERE ABUSED FOR MANY YEARS THEN TOSSED OUT. THAT IS WHAT MAKES THIS VAN SUCH A HARD TO FIND CLASSIC NOW DAYS AND WITH THIS VAN ONLY EVER BEING USED FOR SIMPLE TRANSPORTATION FOR JUST 121K ORIGINAL MILES IT HAS LEFT IT AS JUST A BENCH MARK ORIGINAL BEAUTY. WITH THE LITTLE WEAR AREAS AROUND THE PAINT, HOW LOW OF MILES IT HAS ACCUMULATED, THE BUMPER STICKERS STILL INTACT, ALL THE ORIGINAL ITEMS INTACT UNDER THE HOOD, THE PAINT PATCH AREA UNDER THE RIGHT TAIL LIGHT, THE AMAZING CLEAN CONDITION INSIDE AND OUT, THE INNER ARM REST SWAPPED OUT FOR A USED BLUE ONE AND EVEN ALL THE ORIGINAL GLASS WITH THE LITTLE CORNER CRACK IN THE WINDSHIELD ALL COME TOGETHER TO TELL THIS VANS STORY AND SHOW PARTS OF IT'S 44 YEAR JOURNEY TO GET HERE TODAY. THIS VAN HAS ALL THE LOOK PEOPLE ARE AFTER NOW DAYS IN A SURVIVOR TRUCK WITH GREAT LOOKING PATINA OF A 44 YEAR OLD ORIGINAL PAINT TRUCK WITH MILD WEAR AND TEAR OF CHIPS AND SCRATCHES THROUGHOUT THE BODY, BUT NO ACCIDENTS OR DENTS AND IT HAS ALL THE ORIGINAL SHEET METAL. THIS VAN STILL HAS THE SAME GORGEOUS COPPER PAINT JOB IT DID WHEN IT WAS PURCHASED IN 1974, BUT IT HAS HAD SOME PAINT WORK DONE DECADES AGO ON THE BACK BARN DOORS AND HAD SOME MINOR BODY WORK AND PRIMER SPRAYED UNDER THE RIGHT TAIL LIGHT. TO ME THE BODY AND PAINT IS THE GREAT THING ABOUT THIS TRUCK BECAUSE YOU REALLY CAN'T HIDE ANY ISSUES, IT SIMPLY SHOWS YOU WHAT IT HAS BEEN THROUGH AND IF IT HAS ANY NEEDS OR NOT. THE PAINT IS THE ORIGINAL LACQUER THAT IS STILL NICE AND SMOOTH TO THE TOUC, BEADS UP WATER DROPS AND HAS THAT KILLER SHINE ONLY ORIGINAL LACQUER PAINT CAN GIVE. EVEN IN THE INNER WHEEL WELLS IT STILL IS THE NICE ORIGINAL COPPER PAINT AND NEVER BEEN SPRAYED OVER WITH CHEAP UNDER COATING, SPRAY PAINT OR COVERED IN MUD AND FILTH. THERE IS A LITTLE SURFACE RUST HERE AND THERE WHERE PAINT HAS A STONE CHIP OR WORN, BUT THE ONLY AREA OF REAL CANCER THAT YOU WILL FIND STARTING ON THE BODY OF THIS DODGE ARE IN THE COMMON AREA OF THE FRONT FENDER ARCH AND THE BOTTOM DOOR AND FENDER MEETING POINT ON THE PASSENGER SIDE. THE FRONT, SIDE AND REAR BARN DOORS DOORS ALL OPEN AND SHUT NICE AND TIGHT WITH NO SAG IN THE HINGES. AS MENTIONED ABOVE ALL GLASS IS ORIGINAL AND IN NICE SHAPE, BUT THE WINDSHIELD HAS A COUPLE SMALL CRACKS IN THE BOTTOM RIGHT CORNER. IT HAS TIGHT AND LOCKING FLY WINDOWS, SIDE WINDOWS ROLL UP AND DOWN SMOOTHLY, DOORS LOCK EASILY WITH THE KEY OR BY HAND INSIDE AND THE WINDOWS ON THE REAR BARN DOORS STILL POP OPEN EASILY AND STAY LOCKED OUT FOR VENTILATION. THIS VAN CAME WITH THE MORE EXPENSIVE DELUXE EXTERIOR PACKAGE THAT CAME WITH CHROME BUMPERS, CHROME MIRRORS, CHROME LICENSE PLATE LIGHT COVER, STAINLESS TRIM AROUND WING WINDOWS AND FULL STAINLESS WHEEL COVER OPTIONS OVER THE BASE MODEL PAINTED STEEL VERSION. THE GRILLE IN THIS ERA OF VAN IS USUALLY CRACKED OR MISSING TEETH IN THE CENTER AND BESIDES A LITTLE AGEING IN THE PAINTED BLACK AND SILVER AREAS THIS ONE IS IN AMAZING SHAPE. ALL LIGHTS WORKS, ALL LENSES ARE INTACT WITH NICE COLOR, BUT SOME HAVE SOME LITTLE SCRATCHES AND SLIGHT FADING. THE FRONT AND REAR BUMPERS ARE NICE AND STRAIGHT AND THE CHROME STILL SHOWS NICE WITH GOOD CLARITY. THE ORIGINAL AND HARD TO FIND WHEELS AND CAPS ARE IN NICE SHAPE WITH OLDER TIRES, BUT DON'T HAVE DRY CRACKS AND ARE SMOOTH. THE OUTSIDE SHOWS SOME EXPECTED 40 YEARS OF AGE, USE AND LOVE WITH TYPICAL SMALL STONE CHIPS ALONG THE LOWER PART OF THE BODY, ALONG THE HOOD, SOME SMALL SCRATCHES AND CHIPS NEAR THE DOOR ENTRY AREAS, AND SOME THROUGHOUT THE BODY AS YOU WOULD EXPECT ON A SURVIVOR VEHICLE. THERE IS A SCRATCH ON THE DRIVER SIDE PANEL ABOUT A FOOT LONG, A SMALL SOFT DENT ON THE BOTTOM OF THE DRIVER DOOR, ANOTHER SMALL ONE AT THE VERY BOTTOM JUST AFTER LEFT REAR TIRE, A SMALL CREASE SPOT JUST AFTER THE RIGHT FRONT TIRE AND ON THE RIGHT REAR SIDE DOOR. THE VERY TOP OF THE ROOF STILL HAS SOME SHINE AND GOOD COLOR, BUT PROBABLY DUE TO THE HEIGHT DIDN'T GET AS MANY WAXES AND IS A LITTLE MORE FADED. OVERALL THIS IS A KILLER VAN WITH A ICONIC 70'S LOOK THAT IS RARELY SEEN NOT ONLY ON THE ROADS TODAY, BUT ALSO IN THIS KIND OF CONDITION. THIS DODGE TRADESMAN SHOWS USE, AGE AND WEAR OF THE YEARS, BUT ALSO STILL SHOWS THE LOVE IT RECEIVED TO KEEP IT THIS INTACT AND CORRECT FOR OVER 4 DECADES. INTERIOR- INSIDE IT IS ALL ORIGINAL AND VERY CLEAN WITH NO LEAKS OR ODORS. IT HAS REALLY NICE AND SHINY PAINT THOUGHOUT ALL THE DOOR JAMBS, INSIDE OF DOORS AND ALONG ALL THE INTERIOR PAINTED BODY COLOR AREAS. ALL GAUGES ARE CRYSTAL CLEAR AND WORK, THE STEERING COLUMN IS NICE AND TIGHT FREE OF ANY WOBBLE OR BUSHING DAMAGE AND HAS A GREAT LOOKING STEERING WHEEL, BUT SOMETIMES YOU HAVE TO MANUALLY HOLD THE BLINDER LEVER IN PLACE TO KEEP THE BLINKERS GOING. THE HEAT WORKS GREAT WITH A QUIET BLOWER MOTOR AND AS MENTIONED ABOVE IT IS A RARE A/C OPTIONED TRUCK, BUT MISSING THE COMPRESSOR UNDER THE HOOD. THE ARM RESTS ARE IN NICE SHAPE WITH THE DRIVER BEING REPLACED WITH A USED BLUE PIECE, THE FACTORY RUBBER FLOOR MAT IS STILL INTACT AND IN NICE SHAPE, BUT GETTING A LITTLE FRAGILE. THE DOG HOUSE MOTOR COVER LOCKS CORRECTLY AND IS IN REALLY NICE SHAPE WITH SOME MINOR SCUFFS AND WEAR. IT HAS FRONT CAPTAIN SEATS WITH THE COOL FACTORY INNER SEAT BELT HOLDER RARELY SEEN STILL INTACT. THE DRIVER SIDE AS CLEARLY SEEN HAS BREAKDOWN AND WEAR OF THE LOWER FOAM AND COVER, BUT THE BACK PART IS IN NICE SHAPE AND THE PASSENGER SIDE IS NEAR PERFECT. THE DASH IS IN NICE SHAPE WITH GOOD FACTORY SATIN BLACK FINISH WITH MINOR LITTLE CHIPS AND SCUFFS AND THERE WAS A HOLE CUT FOR A STEREO AT ONE POINT, THE ONLY THING MISSING IS THE HEADLINER HAS BEEN REMOVED, BUT WITH CLEAR LOVE FOR THIS VAN THEY ACTUALLY TOOK THE CARE AND TIME TO PUT THE FRONT AND REAR DOME LIGHTS AND BACK IN, BUT THE REAR WHITE CO ER IS MISSING. THERE IS NO DOUBT WHEN YOU'RE IN THIS 74 DODGE THAT YOU HAVE TAKEN A TIME WARP AND ARE IN A 40+ YEAR OLD FULL STEEL VAN, SO IT WILL ECHO AND SINCE THERE IS NOTHING IN THE BACK SHE GETS COLD INSIDE, BUT NOTHING THE HEATER AND SOME NICE LOOKING ERA CORRECT LOOKING PANELS WOULDN'T FIX. MECHANICAL- THIS OLD VAN ALWAYS FIRES RIGHT UP NO MATTER HOW LONG IT SITS WITH NO BATTERY DRAW AND A PROPER WORKING ELECTRIC CHOKE. UNDER THE BODY AND HOOD IS A VERY DRY AND HONEST TRUCK, WITH NICE CLEAN PAINT AND FACTORY DECALS UNDER THE HOOD. THIS VAN DRIVES DOWN THE ROAD GOOD, SHIFTS THROUGH ALL 3 GEARS NICELY, NO SLIP IN REVERSE AND HAS A PROPERLY WORKING AND ADJUSTED THROTTLE KICK-DOWN. THE POWER STEERING IS QUICK RATION STEERING BOX THAT MAKES FOR FUN AND VERY EASY DRIVING. THIS VAN HAS CLEAN OIL, TRANSMISSION FLUID, ANTIFREEZE AND BLAKE FLUID. THERE IS NO COOLING ISSUES AND THE BRAKES STOP SMOOTH AND STRAIGHT WITH NICE PRESSURE. IT HAS THE ORIGINAL 318 V8 THAT IDLES VERY QUIET AND SMOOTH, HAS PLENTY OF POWER AND PULLS STRONG AND THE PREVIOUS OWNER JUST THAD THE EXHAUST DONE LAST YEAR. THE TRANS SHIFTS GREAT, THE REAR-END AND ALL OTHER BIG MECHANICAL ITEMS ARE IN GOOD SHAPE. YOU CAN FEEL THIS IS A HEAVY AND TALL VAN WHEN YOU DIVE INTO CORNERS, SO A FRESH SET OF HEAVY DUTY SHOCKS WOULD HELP AND THE TIRES HAVE SOME AGE SO THEY FEEL A LITTLE SOFTER THEN I TYPICALLY LIKE. THIS TRUCK DOESN'T SEEM TO HAVE ANY BIG FLUID LEAKS AND THERE ARE NO EXHAUST LEAKS AND THIS ACTUALLY IS A DEPENDABLE RUNNING AND DRIVING VAN THAT DOES NOT STUMBLE, SHAKE, WOBBLE, MAKE NOISES, OVER HEAT OR LOAD UP, BUT IT IS A TEN ON THE FUN SCALE!IF YOU HAVE NOT EVER OWNED OR DRIVEN A VEHICLE OF THIS AGE I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU DO SIMPLY LOOK AT THE AMOUNT OF MODERN INVENTIONS THAT HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED SINCE THIS TRUCK WAS BORN AND HOW FAR OTHER ITEMS HAVE DEVELOPED OVER THE PAST FEW DECADES AND KEEP IN MIND NEW VEHICLES HAVE THE BOXES TO CHECK FOR COMFORT OPTIONS LIKE LEATHER, HEATED SEATS, NAVIGATION ETC AND VEHICLES OF THIS ERA LOADED MEANT GETTING POWER STEERING, POWER BRAKES, A BASIC AM STEREO AND A SPARE TIRE :) THIS MAY HELP TO AIM YOUR EXPECTATIONS ON OWNING A VEHICLE OF THIS AGE.
