INTRODUCTION AND DESCRIPTION

You are viewing my 1980 Dodge Mirada CMX. This Mirada is equipped with the 318 cubic inch V8 engine (Code E44) and three speed automatic (Code D32). Heavily optioned from the factory, notable features are T-Top, console, leather seats, and the "Tuff wheel" option.These pictures were taken May 2017.

Other relevant option codes are A56 = Roadability Package,A75= CMX package, B12= heavy-duty (police) front disc brakes, C16 = Console Shift,H51= Air conditioning, M55 = T-Top roof, andSC9= Nightwatch Blue exterior. This vehicle has otherstandard and optional features worth noting: power steering and brakes, dual mirrors, cruise control (condition unknown), and tinted glass.

I bought this car late 2016 with restoration in mind. It was an impulse buy and now I want to do something else. So I am selling it as a "project"but NOTE it has NOT been made roadworthy (e.g., brakes, lights, instruments, etc. not tested as car sat for several years).

This Mirada runs poorly (hesitates/surges, but no knocking or unusual sounds and reasons are undiagnosed). The engine is NOT original (VIN stamping on pan rail do not match car). Transmission seems to operate fine in all gears.

The vehicle was refinished by a prior owner when I got it .. decent job but it will need attention for aging. The body/floor/trunk pans are rust-free (meaning NO holes or evidence of any extensive rust repair, exceptupper driver fender in pic 6 where there was a blister and 4 inch square patch in floor behind driver seat).

The quarterpanel extensions have cracks and WILL need replacement. The rear bumper is peeling.The rear center bumper insert is not installed but a USED one comes with the car.

The external bright and painted trim is in driver quality condition and consistent with the age of the vehicle (minor dings, oxidation marks, and other "patina"). All the glass is good, including the T-Tops (I do NOT know if either leaks - assume they do).

A rear side marker light is missing. Trunk lock is missing. The grille slat inserts are missing. The vinyl roof is partially removed and needs replacement or complete removal.

The seats are from another Mirada so are not original to this car (had power driver seat but seat in the car is manual). The leather (seating surfaces), front and back, is original and in extremely good condition and what attracted me to this car in the first place.

Headliner needs to be replaced. Plastic parts are faded and/or worn consistent with car's age. Console pad is blue so it has been replaced but it is correct piece.

There is NO radio I am not sure if all the dash instruments, except the speedometer, are operating properly. Wipers are slow. The dash has a split in it on top in the typical seam (right seam just above radio). The carpet in fair condition. The "Tuff Wheel" is in very good condition (horn does NOT operate) but spokes are tarnished.

The aftermarket wheelsshown oncar DO NOT come with it.The tires are included but they areNOTroadworthy at all we will put some "beater" wheels with these tires just for transport loading/unloading.

This 1980 Dodge Mirada CMX is a heavily-optioned, T-Top, console, V8 car, WITH the rare Roadability Package from the factory. There's work to do but I hope it finds a good home.
