1968 Dodge Charger R/T 440 L code. Matching Numbers California Rust Free Car
1968 Dodge Charger R/T
I have for sale a 1968 Dodge Charger R/T XS29L8B****** 440 375 HP RARE Matching #'s Car. Big Block MOPAR FROM SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA.
This is a absolutely rust free car from Southern California that is a one family owned car since 1968 that came east in 2015 due to a inheritance. Theowner who passed, was building this car to be a bad a** street car. It stayed pretty much stock all of its life. The original motor, tranny and rear end are all fresh with less than 500 miles on them before he passed. The front end components, suspension, fuel tank, stainless lines are all brand new. There is way to much good/new stuff on this car to list it all. The motor sounds crazy strong and throttle response is right there. It has a new 3000 RPM stall converter, fresh tranny and 4:56 gears in the back, so she rips. Now the good side to all these upgrades is that he saved all the original parts that have come off this car during this build and they are included in the sale. Original Ram horn exhaust manifolds, intake, carb., dist., complete rear chuck with 3.23 gears, converter, air cleaner andso on.There are to many parts to list. Now, the car was repainted about 12 years ago. The original color was Bright Light Blue Metallic. This car is straight as a arrow and wears all of its original metal. It has some touch ups from chips but presentable the way it is. If painted in the original color (whichI would do)it would push this to a 90-100K car being so original and never restored. It would need minimal to no body work to paint this car, professionally prep and paint it. Chrome and stainless all very nice to almost perfect. There are a few tinkering type things that would need to be done. The worst I noticed is the headlight doors do not open on their own. I believe due to the big cam it doesn’t have enough vacuum. You can open them manually and the lights work fine. Also want to mention that when I bought the carhe had just installed a brand new fuel cell cut into the trunk floor, I hated it, so I bought a one piece Goodmark trunk floor pan and had it professionally installed, literally a OEM installation. They drilled out approx. 280 factory spot welds and re welded the new pan in as the factory would have with those same spot welds, looks mint. Seam sealed, primed and painted black. Iwanted to mention that because you can see the new paint in the trunk pics. This car wears all of its original metal with no bondo or rust ever anywhere. I also have lots of original paperwork, manual etc. No build sheet yet, but looking. See pics
