Description:
1967 Dodge Other Pickups Sweptline Custom Cab
1967 Dodge D100 Sweptline (fleetside) short bed. This truck has 58,100 miles. Purchased by me from original owner in 2011. This truck is equipped with its original 318 cu. in. V8 engine and 3 - speed column shift standard transmission. The truck was in good running condition when I bought it in 2011, but the paint was too faded away to save. Mechanically, it just need some refurbishment. Things I did to the truck in the year or so after I bought it include: Radiator recored, new starter, new battery, battery cables, new fuel pump, new muffler and tail pipe, new brake wheel and master cylinders, new clutch slave cylinder, carb rebuilt, converted points to Pertronix, new fan belt, new hoses (radiator upper and lower as well as heater hoses) alternator, plugs, wires, etc. etc.The truck was professional prepped and painted by a body shop that specialized in vintage vehicles. The doors, hood, bed, fenders were all removed and everything was taken down to metal and primed. The original MOPAR paint codes of Mojave Yellow and Dodge Truck White were used to bring the truck back to its former beauty. At the time, 5 new tires were installed on the freshly painted wheels and NOS hubcaps were added. A new windshield with new weather stripping was used. The bench seat was professionally redone in the correct NOS cloth. NOS rubber floor mat was installed.
To take this truck to the "next level" a person would want to re-chrome the front bumper and grille, but they look quite good as-is, and were not worth the added cost for me. I have driven the truck a little over 3,000 miles in 5 1/2 years. It has always been stored inside a garage and covered. I have obviously used the truck sparingly and have taken it mostly to car shows and occasionally for a Saturday morning hardware / lumber store run. This truck was featured in the July 2013 edition of Hemmings Classic Car magazine in an article called, "The Grocery Getter". The truck was bought new in October 1967 from a small town Dodge dealer in Arkansas. It remained in that town its entire life. The truck was used as a grocery delivery vehicle for a local Mom and Pop store. Included with the sale are the original Owner's Manual showing purchase date and the Chrysler Certicard (warranty card) showing this truck's VIN # and the business name of the store in whose name the truck was purchased.
Note: The truck is nice - BUT it is NOT perfect. There is an unfortunate scratch (my fault) on the pass. side door that I touched up. Theright side brake light does not work and it is not a burned out bulb. I believe it may need the turn signal switch in the steering column replaced. Overall, the truck is nice and always garners a lot of attention at car shows simply because itstands out from the Ford and Chevy crowd. It has won a number of 1st and 2nd place trophies and various local and regional type shows.
As-is-where-is. NO warranties. No delivery available. Must be picked up in White Hall, Arkansas (about 35 miles south of Little Rock).
