1953 Dodge B4C Pilothouse Rat Rod Truck with Major Patina

1985 S10 108” chassis

1970 Mopar 383 Big Block (Roadrunner?), 727 Transmission

Ford 8.8 posi rear end (drum brakes)

Edelbrock Performer carb and manifold

Mopar Orange Box Electronic Distributor

Aluminum aftermarket radiator with electric (Ford Taurus) fan.

Custom exhaust with H-pipe and stubby glass-packs

Good running condition.

I have the full matching bed and running boards for it, but they will need to be shortened to the 108” wheelbase, tailgate has been reinforced with angle iron, lots of farm repairs/mods that add some rat character.

Includes the original door key that still works (old school style with passenger only door lock). All glass is there. Wind wings and door glass moves but needs some rebuilding for smooth operation. Passenger door glass is there but cracked. Seals are all pretty rough but rest of glass is nice.

Comfy ford E350 bench seat on working factory slider. Unsure of the mileage on the motor, but it was built along with the transmission, then put into a 60's pickup and not driven long before being parked. I pulled it for this project. Milodon deep sump oil pan, Mopar valve covers, new alternator and battery, Ididit steering column, remanufactured steering box (Manual), B&M unimatic shifter with custom rebar (was my temporary) handle, new wiring harness (12V modern), electric fuel pump and fan have override switches, fuel cell, has a line lock button on dash so you can smoke the tires as long as you want, New tires all around, new Aero wheels, Temp and fuel gauges were gutted and newer internals are installed. Fuel gauge works but sender in tank needs adjusting to be accurate. Original oil pressure gauge is connected and working. Ammeter not connected. Speedo was working but I think cable snapped (I have a new one). Dash lights are converted to 12v and working. Wiper motor is not connected and not tested (circuit panel has a connection for it). Wiring harness in engine bay is not completely loomed and routed yet. Headlights are not connected yet (all else is, like signals, brake light, dash, engine). Floor has been modified with new tunnel and channel for the big block drivetrain. Body sits very low on the chassis. Would be easy to sit on ground with bags in the stock a-arms as is. Still on stock height springs even. Still needs finishing but is drivable now. Shifts extremely hard. I think the previous owner of the motor has a street strip shift kit in it (I’d change that to a milder setup, new shift kit included). Front clip is attached to frame (welded with a few brackets by radiator support) but not with body mounts yet (rest of cab is on new energy suspension mounts). I have the matching bumpers as well. Transmission has a leak where the dipstick tube enters pan (Chinese oring most likely). Brakes need bleeding and are still on donor pads/shoes (stops very well though). Only “real” rust is in lower door on passenger side (see pic).

I have a pile of brand new parts for it as well. I will include them and they are as follows…. New front/rear brake shoes/pads, Upper and Lower control arms loaded with ball joints and bushings, Trans go shift kit, 12v Headlights, Front new lowered coil springs, front new lowered shocks, new speedometer cable, front body mount bushings and whatever else I can find.

Be different (even in the rat rod world) and get a Dodge instead of a Ford or Chevy J

I have so little time for it, so I figure I’ll see if it’s worth what I have in it. I know it will be worth a lot more finished. Finish it yourself and to your liking (I was going to go with a super clean interior, I have the fabric from an additional matching E350 bench seat which I kept to make matching door panels) and save a bunch. I’m probably forgetting things, so ask any questions and look at the pics (some at end show the truck before I tore it off the original chassis). First picture is how it sits right now.

Clear Montana Title in my name as a 53 Dodge B4C. I am keeping the license plates.
