Description:

1970 Dodge Charger

This auction is for a rare car. It is a 1970 Dodge Charger 500. It is a numbers matching car. It is a factory A/C car. It is not a solid car by any means...but I hope someone will save it. If not, t will make a great parts car. I have too many projects and not enough time, o I am selling a few.
This Charger was originally Plum Crazy Purple with a white top and black/white interior. It also had a white stripe on the tail. It has the 383 4-barrel engine with 727 automatic transmission (console shift). The drivetrain is supposed to be all good but has been sitting for a while. I would plan on rebuilding the engine and transmission just to be safe. It was a pretty car at one time...and will hopefully be so again. The previous owner was in the process of restoring it when he passed away. He purchased it from a salvage yard in the 1980s. I just sent off for the title and will receive it in a few days (in my name). It is supposed to be a clear title...but could be branded as previous salvage due to being purchased from a salvage yard at one time. It should come back clear though. I purchased the Charger from his father (it made him sad to see it all the time). It has been stored indoors or at least covered up for a good portion of its life.
It will require more than the typical rust repairs for these cars. It will need work on the quarters, utchman's panel, runk lid, runk floor, ost of the floor pan, tc....and frame rails (rear definitely needs replaced...and more than likely the front, oo)...and roof (may be able to patch it)...and so on. The doors are solid. All glass is good except for the windshield. The front fenders and hood could be repaired. The front bumper is pretty nice...but the grill is damaged. The driver's door is from a 1969 R/T. It does have its good points. It deserves a proper restoration. It is a rare car that will hopefully be beautiful again.
Due to not being on the road for many years, assume the miles are actual miles. It was purchased from a salvage yard in the 1980s. Since it was in a salvage yard, t may have been sitting around for a while, oo...and it wasn't driven by the previous owner. It hasn't been on the road since it went to the salvage yard.
This Charger has the fender tag. I decoded everything. 26 26" radiator. H51 air conditioning. J25 3-speed wipers. M21 drip rail molding. M31 body belt molding. R11 AM radio 2-watt. Y16 Sales Bank Car. V1W white vinyl roof. A04 radio group package. B51 power brakes. C16 console. C55 bucket seats. G33 left hand remote mirror. FC7 Plum Crazy. C6XW white and black vinyl buckets. EW1 white upper door frame. 319 March 19, 970 build date. 065324 vehicle order number. E63 383 4-bbl. D32 727 automatic. The car was built in the St. Louis assembly plant.
It is a console shift automatic car. I have the original console (which is damaged). I am also including a pretty nice console...extra lights...and so on. Both are partially disassembled but everything is there. The car is sitting on a set of Cragar wheels...they are rough, ut the tires hold air long enough to move it around.
I have a few parts to go with the Charger. I have the trim pictured...and it is included (trim by door glass, rim around quarter glass, rim for drip rail, tc. - see pictures). This Charger is very complete...other than taillights missing. Door panels and panels by rear seat are included. Door seals, ront bumperettes, nd a few other items are also included.
This is your chance to get a rare car. I am listing it only one time, o don't forget to bid if you are interested. It is for sale locally, o I reserve the right to end the auction early. I have three Chargers and tons of parts for sale locally as a package deal...or individually. It will be listed in three separate auctions...so check the other ads.
I will be happy to show you the Charger if you would like to give it a personal inspection. I can assist with loading if you need help. I may be able to deliver it for a fee.
This auction is for the Plum Crazy 1970 Dodge Charger 500. There will be two other auctions for the red 1968 R/T and the yellow 1968 base model.
Good luck and happy bidding!!!!! Don't miss out on this Charger.....
Thanks.
