This is the coolest vehicle in the world of Trucks. There were less than 9000 of the WC 53 built for WWII with less than 100 remaining (I fortunately own two). I cannot drive 1 mile without pictures from passing cars. It takes me 20 minutes to get gas because of the crowd and requests for pictures. This is a show stopper.
The remodel was a 3 year project. The engine was upgraded to a Hercules DT3.7 turbo diesel which starts right up and runs very very strong. The transmission was changed to a New Process 420 4 speed with an NP. Power The brakes have been upgraded to vacuum assisted disc brakes on all 4 wheels. Differentials have be rebuilt to 4.89:1 gears including locking differentials in the rear and freewheeling hubs on the front. The Body was completely reskinned. It is 100% steel. New gauges, new gas tank, new seats. The rims are HMMWV (hummer) with Goodyear Tubeless Tires which are nearly new. New front axle shocks with rebuilt lever action shocks on the rear. New front springs. Braden MU2 winch (which is not standard on this truck). I have a 34 page rebuild summary that I would be happy to send if you would like to see it.
What she needs: time for a new paint job. I would also upgrade the seats. Other than that it is purely personal. If it doesn't sell I will be replacing 4 speed with an automatic, just my preference on trucks.
