1949 DeSoto Custom Custom

This is not my car. It is my X's car. Her Grandfather willed it to her. His ghost still seems Live in the car. I say hello to Grandpa when I get in it to move it. I had to get it running because I am a gearhead. and can do this. The Car was sitting in Sylmar in storage. It burnt the paint. The interior is poor but intact. The headliner is trashed. no carpet. The door inside panels is not great.It had seat covers but they are deteriorating. Don't know about the seats underneath the covers. I drove it twenty miles and by then the motor was starting to blow blue. So, a rebuilt it could use. 6-cylinder flathead stock original.

Transmission seems ok. shifts etc.The Motor runs and starts but the choke needs adjusted. one wheel brake cylinder is leaking. The paint is faded and has surface rust and in some other places not so great. There is a slow drain in the battery. etc. New 6-volt battery plus extra new battery in the trunk. Could use tires, Paint faded and dings with some rust and surface rust. Fluid drive’ semi-automatic transmission’ stock original.

If I had the Means. I would ship it back to Virginia to her Dead Brothers kids. So Sentimental things can be. A good home this car needs. ... Somebody that appreciates the car.

Looking for a good home for Grandpa, He was Martin's car who bought it new and drove it till he died which was recently. The estate sent it to California because he willed it to his granddaughter. She cannot drive it. because of half stick/automatic * she cannot drive a stick

. stock original. but used by Martin. I still think his ghost hangs with me when I drive it. registered and tiled clean.
