1953 DeSoto Firedome 2S
Vehicle Details1953 Desoto with 283 Chevy engine and 2 speed powerglide. Runs excellent, new gaskets distributor, 4 barrel carb, intake, and driveshaft.
Custom Packard tail quarters with tail light fins, wide Whitehall tires, new brakes, headlights, turn signals, has a light pearl paint job with patina, roof is a cobalt blue pearl kandy base, pinstriped, pic shows new fuel tank in trunk (haven't installed just including it) tank in there works fine now. Interior seats are in great shape, and has new carpet. Needs few things to finish interior-package tray, door panels, headliner. Underside of car is solid, no bad rust at all. Previous owner repaired. This is a good beater rat rod driver and tinker on. Have a lot in it, and a clear North Carolina title in my name.
This isn't a 2023 Cadillac, drives like a boat at 45mph. Bought a stabilizer to put on, but haven't yet goes with the car.
Custom visor, Packard taillights /quarters welded in
The only thing I would address is the steering stabilizer or new steering box, but if you know rat rods they all float like boats.
Tires on it are bias ply, radials would help it drive better, but the look is classic.
Still has original vacuum wipers, I coat windshield in rain-x when driving in case of rain.
