History of my Delorean:
The Delorean Motor Company only produced cars for three years from 1981 until 1983. Delorean only built 6700 cars in 1981 and this is one of the first cars released in 1981. This car is a highly collectible first year model with a manual transmission.
I am an Industrial Designer and I have owned this car 21+ years. In that time I have enjoyed completing an extensive restoration.
Stored in a climate controlled garage.
Never driven winters.
This car was in the first two wheels and wings auto shows in Vail, Colorado.
Runs great, just add gas!
THIS IS NOT a car that has been languishing in somebody's wet garage because it won't start or in storage under a tarp untouched since the early 80s. Look at my pictures then look at others pictures of other Deloreans for sale. My car was not pushed out of the garage or storage facility and the tarp ripped off for the photo. You can buy a cheaper non driving problematic or incomplete Delorean if you like. Depending on how much of a project you' re looking for. Or you could buy this one and just add gas.
Interior:
The interior is in great condition, black interior with black leather seats. All gauges work, the seats have typical leather wear, passenger side seat has a small hole (see pic), carpet is clean and undamaged, all original floor mats are included. All electronics work perfectly. Has the original radio still in the dash from the factory.
Exterior:
The exterior is clean and nice all original Stainless steel with original painted bumpers. Has all the original DMC windows and are in great condition. Comes with original factory spare tire that has never been used.
Engine & Electrical:
The engine and manual Transmission are in great working condition.
The engine runs great and always starts right up!
No coolant leaks.
Mobile one synthetic oil used in all oil changes
All wiring is in perfect condition, there are no open wires or any shorts anywhere on the vehicle.
AC, heater, and defroster work great.
Driver and passenger side electrically adjustable mirrors work perfectly.
No sagging doors! Gas struts for the hood, driver door, passenger door, and engine compartment all replaced.
OEM Parts Replaced:
All OEM replacements parts purchased from the DeLorean Motor Company and are originally made for the car.
Original French alternator has been professionally rebuilt.
Many OEM electric parts and relays have been replaced.
Both electric window motors and tracks have been replaced and adjusted. They work like new.
Speedometer works perfectly; cables have been replaced.
A new battery was recently installed that works perfectly.
No sagging doors! Gas struts for the hood, driver door, passenger door, and engine compartment all replaced.
The CIS fuel distributer, fuel lines and, fuel injectors have all been replaced.
Fuel filter has been replaced.
Fuel gauge float sending unit replaced
gas tank cleaned out.
The fuel pump has been replaced.
miscellaneous sensors, gas hoses and, pickups have been replaced.
The Thermostat sensor replaced
hot start sensors replaced.
All the original Renault Volvo Peugeot (R.V.P.) Motor rubber O-rings and connectors between the top half and bottom half of the motor have been replaced. No vacuum leaks!
New stainless steal coolant pipe installed.
Various new cooling rubber hoses.
New stainless steel radiator overflow tank installed.
Stainless steel front license plate holder installed.
