1967 Datsun SPL311 ROADSTER FAIRLADY 1600

This Listing is for One Fairly Rare, Seldom Found and only Occasionally to be Listed on Ebay, 1967 1/2 Datsun R-1600 Low Windshield Roadster/Fairlady SPL311. What makes it Unique and Special is that it appears to be Fairly Original, Straight and in a Somewhat Un-Molested Near Original Condition. Also Appears to be Nearly Accident-Free and Approx 85-90% Rust Free with only some light body filler noted in both rear Quarters and rear Rockers, but having Fairly Nice Solid Interior Floors and Trunk Floors/metal panels (as Shown). Its last repaint about 13-15 years ago in its Original Factory Color and shows very little bubbling or peeling with some Scatches, Chips, Flaws and Imperfections as well as some color match issues shown in the photos!!!

What makes it Really Unique and Special is that it is Fairly Original, Straight and Un-Molested, and Appears to be both Accident-Free and Almost Rust Free having been in dry storage the past 13-15 years!!! We offer this partially completed project as a very viable candidate for your dream driver with minor work or further restoration. There is a receipt that the engine had some rebuild work in the past with zero miles since. It starts and runs great with acceptable and evenly equal 140+ or - psi in all 4-cylinders.

Recent (last three years) work, repairs and upgrades done by me and a local retired Datsun Mechanic!

-Accurate total assessment of lower chassis metal and frame. All Interior Seats Removed and all interior carpeting, trim, tar, under-coating and insulation was painstakingly scraped, sanded and wire brushed to bare metal to determine it's actual condition/damage related to possible rust, corrosion and oxidation damage that was previously hidden.

-Chemical rust/oxidation removal toneutralizeand stop future problem. After proper preparation with two grades of 3M Scotch-Brite pads prior Marine Clean and MortAcis Etch and then a Double "POR-15" painting and treatment, fiberglass repair and reinforcement in the very few effected or lightly damaged areas (Very Minimal Please See All Photos). Then a nice glazing with "POR-Patch" and "POR-Glass" of the rougher areas prior to a 2nd Coat of "POR-15" for a Rock Hard Finish and Glass Smooth Finish after full curing.

-An Expensive and Great Quality Brand of internet available Heat Reflective and Sound Deadening Material was carefully cut and fitted and then rolled meticulously to eliminate any gapping or air pockets/bubbles and to make sure of perfect adhesion for long term durability and sealing!

-Then a custom fit quality aftermarket carpet set was installed with a good strength glue and hardware and it's factory type jut backing insures further temperature insulation and quiet from road noises!

-The seats were then installed with seat covers professionally installed by previous owner and I have no further info on them, whether aftermarket or OEM or who/where they were done. Some Nice Quality Factory Type and Colored New Aftermarket Seat Belts were then securely installed in the factory threaded holes with all New Heavy Duty Hardware!

-A New Aftermarket Heavy Duty Tan "Robbins" Canvas Top Was installed with New Front Stainless Latching Hardware, Rear High Quality Stainless Attaching Fasteners Finished with media blasted original steel seal channels and new factory OEM Rubber Windshield Header Seal!

-A Very Extensive Front Brake Overhaul including over $900.00+ in the expensive front "Summuto/Dunlop" caliper halves, four (4) in total with also four Brand New Custom Bent Stainless Steel Front Brake Lines and Both Rubber Factory Flex Hoses/Lines!!

-All 4 factory 14" steel wheels were media blasted, carefully Primed and Painted in a factory silver thenfitted with the closest possible OE white wall tires in the correct factory original size!

-Both S.U Side-Draft Carburetors Removed and Sent Out with New Complete Japanese "NKJ" Carburetor Rebuild Kits installed with new brass jets, needles and shut-off valves. Then flow bench tested prior to re-installation, Tuning and final adjustments after replacing all related manifold vacuum hoses!

-Valve Cover removed, cleaned and cleared/detailed and re-installed with a new H/D neoprene Valve Cover Gasket after both all intake and Exhaust valves were properly adjusted!

-A Professional Tune-Up (with new NGK Sparks Plugs, Wires, Distributor Cap, Rotor, Points & Condenser), a Computer Scope and Carburetor Rebuild was completed on site by a retired Datsun/Nissan Factory Trained Mechanic!

-A Proper Oil Change and OEM Oil Filter was completed along with a Radiator and Engine Flush, Thermostat/Gaskets, Radiator Hoses and Clamp Replacement along with all suspect heater hoses behind the engine and Installation of New properly mixed Anti-Freeze with preventive Anti-Rustand Water Pump Lube Additives.

-It Definitely still can use or needs further improvement including dash top and wiring work/restoration and as I now have over 12 cars and have lost some storage, so I will need to be selling 4-5 cars prior to this winter. So maybe you may get a deal on your lifetime childhood dream car!?!

-It is Still and unfinished project and still needing rear brakes installed (parts included), an exhaust system from header assembly back, missing rear bumper as well as a few minor details and trim. The original center console is include but needs restoration as also pictured. The engine was rumored to have been rebuild but I have no proof other than its cleanliness and good compression.

-It is a almost a 60 year on classic so it is sold "As-Is...Where-Is" with no warranty or guarantee offered or included. Shipping costs, taxes, duties and other fees are solely the responsibility of the new buyer. Please only bid if you are serious and have the funds and permission already approved.

-Plan on replacing or rebuilding both Clutch Slave Cylinder and Clutch Master Cylinder as there are leaks from long time setting. This car is not driving or stopping so plan ahead. If I find a kit or two I will include them for you. Also included is a Factory NOS Speedo-Cable that I never got around to replacing either.

-On last side note:the car come with a "New" Battery installed in early to mid-2023 and just fully charged and also the car has been coverted to a more dependable electric fuel pump, but the OEM Japanese unit is still mounted to engine and will pump n case originallity is King for you!
