1973 Datsun Z-Series
Datsun Z-Series. Really nice example of an early Z! Runs good and doesn’t smoke, and no leaks. I am the 3rd owner. Car has never been smoked in. Previous owner repainted the car what I would call British racing green, or Hunter green. During the repaint, the windshield, as well as the rubber around it was replaced. The previous owner had repaired the only rust spot, which was behind the passenger seat. A new plate was installed and the old one removed. When I got it, I found a couple of pinholes under the spare, so I had those repaired, and had a rubberized undercoating installed from front to back, covering the entire interior.Paint shines extremely well and will not need to be re-painted, unless of course the new owner wants to. Car has been in a dry climate most, if not all of it's life. Numbers matching engine, stamped on the block and is shown in the photos. Interior is in very good condition. Only flaws are the chrome door trim, a 1-2” slit in the headliner, and very slight wear on the driver’s seat bolster. AC variable-speed fan functions as it should but will need freon. Electric antenna goes up when radio turned on. Right after I got the car I upgraded the sound system with a new “Kicker” stereo and speakers. The new speakers were installed behind the seats. Seats (redone by 2nd owner) and carpet (replaced by me) are very nice. Dash is flawless. Recent battery installed (Interstate). I have all records since I acquired her in November of 2016.
I have the original hubcaps and tires with the original wheels as well, as well as the spare tire tool kit with the bag. Spare tire is there and secured with the hold down bolt. Pressboard cover is perfect. Tires have plenty of tread. All badges and emblems attached and in great shape. Everything works as it should except the clock. I run the car weekly - not a trailer queen. I have taken her to cruise nights in Palm Desert and it gets as much, if not more attention than the European exotics that are always lined up (probably due to the rarity). These 1st gen Z’s will always be highly sought after - don’t miss out on this gem! Personal inspections are always welcome. Questions will be answered during the evening and on weekends. The car is ready for cruise nights and amateur shows. It is not perfect but the price, with that said I believe is absolutely reasonable. If you want perfection move on and prepare to pay a whole lot more!Health forces sale, and were it not for that I would never dream of letting her go! Thanks for looking.
