Vehicle Details

This 1972 Datsun 240Z is finished in silver over red vinyl and is powered by a numbers-matching 2.4-liter inline-six paired with a four-speed manual transmission. Equipment includes electronic ignition, twin SU carburetors, 14″ steel wheels with covers, chrome bumpers with guards, and a Hitachi AM/FM radio. The car was acquired in September 2021, reportedly from its second owner of 48 years. A repaint was performed during prior ownership, while work completed in September 2021 consisted of a replacement distributor cap and rotor, tires, and ignition wires, valve cover gasket, hoses, and clamps. The front rotors, pads, and bearings were replaced in December 2021. This 240Z is offered in California with service records, manufacturer’s literature, spare keys, a jack, and a clean Ohio title in the name of the seller’s company.

Finished from the factory in Silver (901), the car was reportedly repainted under prior ownership. Features include a driver’s side mirror, chrome bumpers with guards, brushed window trim, and an aftermarket power antenna. Close-up photos of the body and trim are provided in the gallery.

Steel 14″ wheels with Z-branded covers are mounted with 195/70 Hankook Kinergy ST tires showing 2021 date codes. Braking is handled by front discs and rear drums, and four-wheel independent suspension came standard. A full size spare and jack are included in the sale

The cabin features bucket seats trimmed in red vinyl with matching door panels and a black dashboard and carpets. Amenities include a center console, a wood shift knob, and an AM/FM Hitachi radio. Dash is original and free of cracks.

A three-spoke wood-rimmed steering wheel frames a 160-mph speedometer and tachometer with a 7k-rpm redline. Gauges for coolant temperature, oil pressure, voltage, and fuel level are fitted in the center stack. The five-digit odometer shows 55k miles, approximately 1000 of which were added by the seller, who notes that the clock and the oil gauge are inaccurate.

The 2.4L L24 inline-six is equipped with dual SU carburetors and was factory rated at 151 horsepower and 146 lb-ft of torque.

Engine block stamping L24-060127 matches the number shown on the data plate provided in the gallery below.

Power is routed to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission. Additional underside photos can be seen in the gallery. Service records, manufacturer’s literature, and spare keys are included in the sale.
