Description:

1970 Datsun Z-Series 240Z Series 1

You're looking at my Series 1 1970 Datsun 240Z. This is the 8,559th 240Z to roll off the production line in 1970. This is an all numbers matching original car that is unmolested and a fantastic car to restore! Engine runs like a sewing machine (see video)! Car is not driveable however as it needs brake work, clutch master, gas tank, etc.

The car has typical rust as most of these do, but it's overall pretty solid. It will need floors and a few other spots repaired, but the outer rockers, doors, fenders, dog legs, rear quarters are really solid. The original spot welds are still present around the rear wheel arches. There is NO bondo in this car! It has always been a Southern Car (Georgia and S. Carolina). It has been painted blue and white over the years, but is currently back to its original Orange over Black configuration. Obviously you'll strip down to bare metal during the restoration.

I don't believe the car has ever been in any major accidents. There is a ding over the driver's side rear corner above the light. The doors shut very nicely. The hood pops up about an inch on the driver's side front corner as the mechanism below that scissor folds as it opens and closes needs adjusted or replaced. You can push that corner down and the body lines are excellent. All glass is in good condition, as well as the brightwork around the windows. I have 2 extra steel wheels in addition to the original spare that will come with the car.

The car has almost ALL of its original components specific to early Series 1 cars, minus the original radio and fuse cover/ashtray.

The following are still present:

* Original early air cleaner w/o Winter shutoff
* Original early solid spoke steering wheel* Original early dash with toggle switch* Original early rear view mirror
* Original early center console (missing fuse
cover and ashtray, lighter still present)
* Original early seats (have been recovered)
* Original storage bins behind seats* Original metal radiator fan* Original 4 screw SU carbs and manifold
* Original "Nissan 2400 OHC" valve cover* Original alternator and starter
* 240Z C-pillar emblems* Vented rear hatch with vertical defrost
* Original jack and wheel chocks* Original spare rim date coded 1/70* Original E88 head* Original seat belts* Original early hood in great condition

With fully restored early Series 1 cars fetching $75k+++ this is an excellent opportunity.

I am a private seller/collector. I intended on restoring this car for myself, but I recently purchased another air cooled Porsche that I'm going to focus my attention and finances on. Rather than letting this rare Z sit around until I can get to it, I'm letting her go and selling at NO RESERVE!

I require a $500 deposit immediately following auction, and the remaining balance is to be bank wired within 3 business days. No exceptions. Please do not bid if you cannot do this. The car can sit until you arrange pickup, but it must be paid for in full according to my terms.

I will gladly sell to overseas bidders. I have a clean, clear South Carolina title in my name, in my possession. Feel free to reach out with questions or offers to end the listing early if you don't want to risk being outbid at the end.
All sales are final, and no warranties are expressed or implied.
Thanks for looking and happy bidding!
