1983 was the final year for the legendary 280-ZX and arguably the most improved and best of the breed. 1983 was also the final year that the Datsun name would be used as the next generation would be a Nissan. Our car is the finest original that we have seen yet! All original and meticulously maintained since new, the car looks and smells like a new car, The car was ordered in Dark Brown Metallic with gold stripes, Gold plated 280-ZX emblem and Polished Alloy wheels with gold accents. This most attractive color is finished off with the rare Suede and Leather interior package. The package included 'Dastun 280-ZX"monogrammed in the suede.
Options included in this 280-ZX included the legendary straight 6 Cylinder engine mated to the 5 Speed manual transmission. The interior was optioned out with the Premium Seude/Leather combo. The optional digit display dash is a great 1980's throwback and still operates as new. The radio was also an upgrade with the variable wide range Stereo option selection and the cassette player. The radio actually sounds great even compared to today's radios. The T-tops were a great feature that gives a wonderful driving experience. Air Conditioning works wonderful and is ice cold even on the hottest days. Other options include Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, Power windows, Locking t-Tops, tinted glass, Cruise control, Climate control, fold out rear windows, Power mirrors, Power Door locks, automatic rear defroster timer, Rear window washer and Voice activated warning message that will tell you the "lights are on" or any other warning message. Documentation of this Datsun includes the original owners manual, original dealers clear binder, the original tire warranty booklet,the space saver spare tire book, the original Datsun New car warranty book, official NC inspection receipts documenting the miles for each year, and numerous maintenance receipts.
Mechanically, this 280-ZX is flawless. When I purchased this car, I drove it home approximately 200 miles. The ride was so comfortable and enjoyable that I felt like I good drive a cross country trip in it. At 70 MPH the car was only at 2600 RPM and the car maintained 28 MPG. It was a very hot day, I had the Air Conditioning blasting, and the temperature maintained at 185 degrees. A truly remarkable driver that will make you will feel like you are in 1983 again!
