A recent partial restoration and FULL engine rebuild on this numbers matching 1966 Datsun 1600 Roadster will get you going wherever you want with lots of looks and style. These cars are one of the next most collectible cars according to several magazines and classic auto experts. This car is rust free, having been brought to TN from New Mexico. It still sports the original steel wheels and hub caps with rare Atlas whitewalls. Tires are brand new as are many many parts: battery, dash pad, rear view mirror, shocks, fuel pump, wheel cylinders, thermostat, radiator cap, blue-tip antenna, motor mounts, upgraded SU carburetors which put out more HP than original, hoses, gaskets, choke cable, speedometer cable (on it's way), switches, bulbs, air cleaners, shift boot, full engine rebuild kit with new Pistons (Flat top), bearings, timing chain, water pump, electronic ignition kit, and so on. I have receiptsfor all the engine rebuild and machining. The car was painted by the previous owner approximately 3 yrs ago and it is good driver quality. There are some imperfections (rear bonnet where hard top rests in pix). Interior panels and seat covers are new. The car comes with both the desirableand rare hard top as well as the soft top. The portal windows in the hard top are plexi-glass and could benefit from replacing. This car drives beautifully and starts right up every time. Shifts through all 4 gears flawlessly. Though not needed, an extra 4 spd transmission is available post sale with only 30,000 miles on it from a 67 1600 for $200. Comes with original owner's manual.
I bought this car believing it was good to go by the previous owner, but discovered the need to rebuild the engine, therefore I know personally that the car will run without issues, as I have driven it about 100 miles or so since completion in May. The things to address now are merely cosmetic. I recommend a new carpet kit, as it is beginning to show its age. The windshield has a couple scuffs on it, and patched rock chips. There don't appear to be any speakers for the radio in the car, so I have never heard it play. I have done the expensive stuff..now it's just time to have fun with it.
