Just recently purchased from a long time California Owner, this 1971 240 Z spent its entire life in the excellent climate of Southern California resulting in the perfectly preserved, never rusted Z-car you see here today. This is an unmodified, very originalcar that shows no evidence of past damage of any kind. A completely original drivetrain that runs and drives excellent, this 240 Z appears to have always been well maintained over its 45-year existence.The bodyintegrity of this 240Z is second to none with absolutelyno rust ever in the most common areas of concern: Battery tray, inner skirt below the tray, rear hatch latch panel, inner rear hatch or spare tire tub. Very visible factory spot welds are present on both quarter panel wheel lips and in doorjamb at quarter panel wheels lips and in door jamb at quarter to rocker panel junction. The car is an original White exterior and appears to be a "Fair" quality repaint overall likely done quite sometime ago.The current paint is presentable driver quality but has some various nicks and chips. It is also rubbed thru thin in a few places. Exterior trim is good overall but not perfect, likely all original pieces. Glass is all very good. The car has is original correct.Tires are correct in size and about 50% wear but do appear to be old with some dry rotting cracks.Interior is also very presentable but mostly original. Lower driver seatcushionis re-upholstered.Padded dash has the usual cracks as you will see in our photos. Please note: The rear interior trim panel covering the backside of taillamps is missing. The original real wood steering wheel is very nice but in need of refinishing to bring back the original color.Underhood and chassis are very clean and tidy, again no modifications from its original build configuration. The motor runs excellent, sounds very good, no visible leaks, no smoke on start up or under acceleration. We do not know for a fact what id any serious engine work has ever been done beyond regular maintenance.Please look over our pictures and ask us any questions you may have. This is a very good, unmolested 240Z, a car that is becoming extremely difficult to find as these cars have become so sought after. What we have learned about these early Z-cars is that rust the serious enemy and with very rare exceptions the onlyreally good cars left at this point in their life come out of the dry Southwest climate areas. Very few 240Z's survived anywhere that the weather was not superb. That being said this car is outstanding and is priced to sell at a reasonable figure. Just be aware that cars like this are in very short supply as enthusiasts have recognized the desirability of the 240Z.
