1981 Datsun Z-Series 280ZX T-TOP

1981 Datsun 280ZX, BARN FIND ORIGINAL RUNNING. This 280ZX T-Top Coupe was recently acquired from the original owner. Car is totally original and unmodfified. We spent the time to get the car running but it has been off the road since 1990. The car is being sold AS-IS needing whatever level of restoration one may choose. The body has rust in the typical places such as rocker panels, forward edges of floorpan at rockers, corners of doors, quarters at wheel opening and RT rear corner hatch. Interior is actually very nice as the car has always been garaged. Motor sounds good, seem to run fine, no smoker or unusual sounds. Brakes do function but should be serviced. Transmission seems to be fine, functions properly. Tires are cracke, dry rotted and need replaced. Clutch and Gearbox seem fine. Gauges and power windows operate. Air conditioning is not blowing cold, needs service or repair. Paint is mostly original but very faded and overall needs refinished. The rust on the car is very repairable but is the one item that will require the most attention to bring this 280 ZX back to being a great car. There is no evidence of prior body damage or rust repair so the work it needs now is first time rust repair. Overall this is very inexpensive Z-car with a 5 speed manual that can be a nice starter project car for someone. Your restoration work will prove to be a sound investment as these cars gain popularity and value in the marketplace.
