1972 Datsun Z-Series

I've had the car for approximately 19 years. It was originally an automatic and this past January I decided to convert it to a 5 speed manual (from a 280zx) At that time I also installed a larger alternator starter MSD ignition and a Malory distributor (cost of 4k and have receipt).About 12 years ago when the engine needed to be rebuilt I decided to upgrade the engine to a 280z (N-42 head L28 block) and installed a performance exhaust and headers. With the 5 speed added to the other stuff it REALLY runs! By the way I have the receipt for the tranny work and it's warrantied for 2 years from January 2015. The work was done by Pierre Perrot of Pierre Z (he's been working on the car for as long as I've had it) in Gardena California. He is a very well respected "Z guy" that used to race them back in the 70's. Also he was one of the shops that Nissan used in 1997 to "restore and resell" a number of 240's out of special dealerships.I had original mag rims chromed as well as the bumpers when the car was repainted about 12 years ago. The car was originally orange and the paint has held up very well. There is some rust bubbles about the size of a palm (of hand) at the bottom of each door. The car has an alarm system with automatic door locks. The car gets quite a bit of attention as so many people either had one or knew someone who did. Unfortunately there aren't to many of them on the road any more. I doubt you will find a better running (speed/power) 240.
