1972 Imperial LeBaron 4-door hardtop
1972 Chrysler Imperial
This 1972 Imperial LeBaron belonged for about 30 years to a very good friend of mine, ow deceased. During his several-year illness I purchased the car from him with the intent of keeping it. However, remarried in June, hich created more expenses than I had expected; therefore, do not have the resources (storage, unds, r talent) to restore the car.
Due to legal constraints during my friend’s illness I did not have access to the car, o it sat for three years until quite recently. Unfortunately, his resulted in an increase of the lower body rust visible in the photographs.
The TorqueFlite automatic shifts fine, lthough there appears to be a transmission leak which did not exist prior to the three years of sitting. The brakes feel okay and the car stops evenly, ut I have not had the brakes checked. The car runs very well; I have driven it about 100 miles. The car has four new radial tires and a new Mopar battery. Based on my knowledge that my friend did not drive the car often, believe (but cannot document) that the 81,000 miles shown are correct. When my friend’s home was foreclosed, ll the service paperwork for the car was lost.
The air conditioning, eater, nd air circulation fan are inoperable totally, lthough all parts are believed to be present. The power lock switch on the driver’s door is dysfunctional (all power locks work from the passenger’s door switch). The driver’s power vent window does not work, ut I believe (no guarantees) that the switch is defective; the passenger’s vent window does work. The power antenna does not move, lthough the motor does work. The power seat does not work. The right rear window goes down only partially. The headlight doors work to some extent, ut need a manual assist to open fully. The trip odometer does not work properly (the primary odometer does) and the clock does not work.
The leather seats, nterior, nd headliner are very good. The air cleaner had been removed when the engine picture was taken, ut the air cleaner now is in place. The fender skirts are in the trunk.
I have the clear title in my name.
