Description:

1950 Chrysler Windsor

This 1950 Chrysler Windsor convertible was customized in the mid-1950s and featured in Rod & Custom magazine April 1957. The car has 1954 Cadillac bumpers and grill, 1955 Lincoln Capri, taillights and fins, 54 Buick side trim, frenched headlights, shaved emblems, and doorhandles, nose, decked, 394 Oldsmobile engine that turns freely so it should run with no problems but needs carburetor. The car does have some rust mostly on the driver side floorboard and lower quarter panels but should be a pretty basic repair. The trunk floor appears to be really solid as well as the rest of the car. Originally from San Francisco and It’s always been a California car. All the original custom work was done in lead so most likely the work was done by Joe Bailon or Joe Willhelm, which were a couple of the top customizers in that area back then. Somebody radiused the rear wheel wells after the 1950s but I have cherry rear quarter panel fenders to put the car back to original if desired. The car is mostly complete and has extra parts, but the front seat is missing, which can be taken from any dodge/Chrysler coupe or convertible from 1949 to 52 I’m told. And I included a few Photoshop/digital restyled pictures to show with the car could look like finished. Pretty incredible! I wish I had time to restore the car myself, but I just have too many projects right now.The car is located in Jackson, California and I can help with transportation in CA or cross country. So here’s your chance to own a piece of history for a reasonable price! Please feel free to message me with any questions. I do have the car listed locally so I reserve the right to stop the auction at any time if the car should sell. Thanks and good luck!
