1-owner car with 22,977 miles. Receipts that document the miles, it’s a true survivor. Never any kind of touch up or restoration, it’s truly a one-of-a-kind time capsule.
Many receipts going back to 1978, work and maintenance orders, all original warranty papers and documents, owners book and the original window sticker.
318 V8, most available options as you can see on the window sticker. It runs ok, transmission shifts as it should, brakes stop the car in a straight line.
An interesting note about the original owner. The gentleman was a decorated WWII highly decorated war hero. He worked until he was 95 years old and retired from his SECOND lifetime career!!! He passed away in July 2022 at the age of 102! There’s an excerpt of his opituary among the pictures, it’s well worth a read.
He quit driving in 2012 and the car sat in storage until a month ago. It was then purchased from the estate.
The car as you see it has not been detailed, or even vacuumed out. Nothing has been touched up or hidden. It’s the real deal!
Ok, now to a few issues that the car needs:
1). It’s a Lean Burn car, it starts easily and runs smoothly. But it tends to bog down as you accelerate, but eventually runs right down the road at speed.
2). The headliner is there but droopy
3). Two very minor rust spots as seen in the pics
4). The lighter “wood” panels, some are warped as shown, and reattached with screws. Everything is there although some of the pieces are warped.
5). The tires are old and need to be replaced. In fact, I think two tires are originals from 1978.
I’ve explained things as I see them, I’ve tried to honestly cover it all. Also, the interior is spectacular, the leather isn’t cracked, it’s very soft and smooth. The carpet and paint are great.
