1970 Chrysler 300-H Hurst Edition
Chrysler's most expensive car in the lineup for 1970 was the 300-H Hurst Edition. It's where a large and luxurious A/C interior was married to a big 440 V8, and it was all wrapped in one of the most distinctive bodies of the time. By 1970 Chrysler's ultra-premium letter-series was over, but with a long and sleek design... like the 300 coupe, many thought it was due for a revival of the ultra-premium American boulevard royalty. The result was the 300-H Hurst car. It revived a tradition of ultra-desirable special Hurst cars as Spinnaker White coupes were sent to Hurst to get a Satin Tan artfully laid on top to make this akin to other Hurst specials, like the Olds. Plus, this one is allowed to make even more power thanks to a long tube header upgrade that feeds the sweet rumble of the H-pipe dual exhaust. The Torqueflite A727 three-speed automatic transmission is the ideal pairing because it's stout enough to handle the power while also settling into easy cruising. That's especially true for this one that was rebuilt in 2009. Plus, power steering and front disc brakes all add up to a big classic coupe you can enjoy any time.
