New Yorker Convertible Fluid Drive
1948 Chrysler New Yorker Convertible
The Chrysler New Yorker was a luxury automobile from 1940 to 1996 serving for several years as Chrysler's flagship model. This postwar model featured a return to pre-war chrome and the results are spectacular. This car really looks the part of a "Top of the Line" luxury automobile.
This New Yorker is an attractive vehicle with a two-piece windshield, Art Deco inspired dashboard, outstanding plaid interior and a long hood and front fenders. Postwar Chryslers continued to offer Fluid Drive, with New Yorker offering a true four speed semi-automatic transmission. This New Yorker is equipped with independent front suspension and a solid axle in the rear. Hydraulic drums provide the stopping power and the engine is a 323.5 cubic-inch L-head straight eight.
The tires are fairly new with very few miles on them and the spare tire is new.
This car has a power convertible top, radio, heater, clock, twin spot lights, twin outside mirrors and windshield wipers. Also equipped with a Sisson Automatic Choke and Ignitor Electronic Ignition.
