1950 Chrysler Windsor Club Coupe w/ heater option - Good Driver
1950 Chrysler Windsor Club Coupe
The AACA Library & Research Center is selling this fun 1950 Chrysler Windsor Club Coupe to raise money to support the library's mission and future endeavors. This vehicle comes in handsome Racine Blue with an equally lovely blue interior (that's not original broadcloth but looks nice). It is a mechanically sound car but could use some light repair work (ie: bleed the brakes) to make this car a great cruiser. It drives well and starts up fine, and it looks good overall aside from a few cosmetic flaws (ie: minor flaws in the chrome trim, headlight lenses are not original and do not match). We will be including some period sales literature with your purchase for your enjoyment.
We welcome any interested parties to visit the library and check out the car in person. The auction will be ending on Tuesday, October 2nd. This is perfectif you are planning on attending the Fall Carlisle and the AACA Hershey National Fall Meet. You can pick it up while in town! Please note that you will be expected to arrange for pickup within 10 days and take care of transportation requirements, including associated costs.
We have more pictures and a video highlighting the car, which you can view on our website. For questions, concerns, and any other information, please call us during normal business hours. Best of luck to all bidders!
PLEASE VIEW THE CONDITION DESCRIPTION AND VIEW ALL PICTURES BEFORE BIDDING. CAR IS SOLD AS-IS.
Condition:This is a good, drivable car that could use a little tender loving care, so we recommend you check out the car in person and/or have someone look it over with you. Would make a great driver. Please view all pictures and read below for more details.
Based on the 2018 Collector Car Price Guide rating system, we would estimate this ranks at a middle to low-end 3, which is "VERY GOOD: Completely operable original or "older restoration" showing wear. Also, a good amateur restoration, all presentable and serviceable inside and out. Plus, combinations of well-done restoration and good operable components or a partially restored vehicle with all parts necessary to complete and/or valuable NOS parts."
NOTE: The hood latch is fidgety and does not latch on its own. There is a small amount of pitting in the chrome, as well as some defects in some places (trim loosened from body in spots). Brakes need to be bled. Driver side door lock doesn't work. Optional heater box not hooked up but will come with the car.

The following is an answer to a buyer's question. Because the buyer included personal information, we are posting their question and our response as an addendum to preserve their anonymity.
Buyer Question:Hi,Would this car be safe to drive from Hershey to [where I live - 1.5 hours away]? Especially with the brakes needing bled? Does it smoke, leak fluids or overheat? Do the horn and lights work?
AACA Library Answer:Thanks for your interest in the Chrysler. We are leaving the method of transportation up to the buyer. For a purchase like this, we would recommend coming up to the library and checking it out in person. I'm not sure what your particular schedule is like, but we are open Monday through Saturday, from 8 AM to 4 PM. Head Librarian, Chris Ritter will be here on Saturday. If you plan on coming up, please give us a call ahead of time to give us a heads-up.
The car does not smoke oil, leak fluids. It's been 1 1/2 years since we've stored the car, and I'm not sure when the gas was topped off (so it's older gas from having sat for a while). We've driven it around locally and haven't noticed any overheating issues. The horn and lights work.
If you have any other questions, please send us another note or give us a call. Thanks for reaching out, and have a great day!
Sincerely,
Matthew HockerAssistant Librarian

The following addendum is an eBay message from the car's original owner. It is being posted as an addendum to protect their anonymity. The information pertains to the hood latch.
Owner Response:"The hood will close completely if you hold the latch open (as if you're opening the hood) and close the hood. Make sure the handle under the dash is pushed in all the way. The hood closes securely."
