1966 Chrysler Town & Country base
Letting go ofmy1966Chrysler town and country wagon. Ipurchased this car about 3 years ago out of a collection, andprior to that, the vehicle was in dry heated storage for over 20 years. Before that, out west. It is nearly 100% rust free. Its a show stopper and has won myself some trophies for unique vehicle and its cool factor. Be ready to makea lot of friends anytime you stop.383 727 auto 3 speed trans.Factory AC car, nothird row, or roof rack wasoptioned. Vin plate is pictured for theenthusiast to option code. I have had this carprofessionally rebuilt mechanically andhad a bumper to bumperundercarriagerebuilddone to make thevehicle drive comfortable andreliably, as well as safe. Replaced components include
Suspension / SteeringRebuilt original Power steeringpump, andreplaced with more modern pump. Original is included in sale
power steering hosessteering box (brand new)pitman armtie rodsend linksall suspensionbushingsfront to rear includingtorsion bar bushings in subframe (very important)brand new custom build leafsprings (1 off set, nolonger in production)shocks (4)ball jointsall control arms andcomponents were stripped, cleaned, and resprayed blackProfessionallyaligned after we lowered front endabout 1.5-2 inches
BrakesBrake hosesdrum shoesall four corners rebuilt with new brake hardware with adjusters.System was inspected andflushed. Works well.
MotorCarburetorwas rebuilt and air filter replacedTransmission was drained, inspected,filter and gasket replaced, and refilled.Valve cover gaskets replaced, as well as battery cables.New battery
InteriorSteering column wiring was replaced to tighten up and fix turn signalfunction. Both Fender markers work as they should, andtaillight bulbs were replaced.Dash lights were replaced with new bulbs.Headlights,turn signals, washer fluidnozzles,wipers, blower motor and rear window (power window ontailgate) function as shouldCarpet was damaged from heater core leak, so it is partially removed on driver and passenger side floors. Floor mats cover the problem. Passenger side has a small hole from heater core leak. Replacement pans are available for these C bodymopars.
Undercarriage
Looks like new. Wheel wells are clean and have NO RUST. Wheel coverings come off easily. I had a light coating of undercoating applied along the bottom to protect it since we planned on driving it. Still has factory original muffler andexhaust system. Drives quiet and smooth.
BodyPaint shows some age. Wasresprayedmany years ago, so its chipping and peeling in a few small / tight areas. Ive buffed and waxed it with no issueshowever.Cleansup very nicely.Somewrinkling in drivers side frontfender near marker light. Onlynoticeable from drivers seat. Allchrome is original and there. Hasfactory tow package andoriginal liftsprings areincluded with car.
WheelsFactory steelies withoriginal hub caps in great condition are included in the sale wrapped in brand new tires with 10 mile on them.18'Detroit steel wheels custom built / painted for the car are currently on it with Dunlop direzza summer tires.
Window felts, and seats will needrecovering from heat and age, however carpet in rear is ingreat shape.Car is missing sun visors. Dash pad has typical crack in center, however is still usable. Radiospeaker is dryrotted,however radio does function (just no sound) ACcompressor is all there, just needs servicing. Heater core has been unplugged, and new core is included in sale.Small drips of trans fluid and oil remain (typical old Mopar, otherwise no issues. I have a reproduction ownersManuel, as well as the originalprotect-o-plate from the radiator core support in my possession with Vin stamped on it. Comes with a fresh oil change as well as 2 sets of original keys, as well as 4 key blanks if you have the doors rekeyed. Runs and drives great.
Ive driven this car around 1000 miles since therebuild and have had zero problems. Cruises 85mph with power to spare. Starts right up even after a month of sitting.
