1969 CHRYSLER 300 440 Big Block CONVERTIBLE ONE OF ONLY 1,933 PRODUCED Survivor

Numbers matching 440 original engine. Runs and drive great!

You are bidding on a very rare find. This is a very clean original 1969 Chrysler 300 with the 440 4BBL matching engine Convertible.

It was purchased by my friend back in 1993 from out west, and was used to drive to work and cruise on nice days. The car is overall very very clean, solid, for being a 1969. I do not see any evidence of accident damage. I believe most of the Green Poly Paint is mostly original.

It does 100% need the dash pad replaced. It was Warped from western sun, some minor interior rear fabric panel repair and I will be supplying a entire replacement dash pad as well as dash from another 1969 Chrysler 300 as shown the photo.

It has power headlamps, cruise control, power steering, power windows that work excellent, factory sure grip posi rear.

The floors, frame, and trunk floor are 100% original metal in great condition. The metal on this car is very clean as shown

The title indicates the car has 93k original miles. Looking at the seat, brake pedals, good ride. and the tight front end I would be inclined to think they are. It also has original rugs so the build sheet should be in the interior.

The car starts, runs, steers, brakes, and overall runs excellent. It does not run hot. It has the Original correct Mopar part number radiator still. The engine has no smoke no noises, and pulls like an all stock 1969 440 torque monster should.

The retractable hide away headlights work as well as the convertible roof. I would not hesitate to drive the car anywhere.

This is not a restored car just a great running numbers matching 440 4bbl big block convertible. You can use it just like it is or a great car to send out and have repainted.

I decoded the original fender tag and this was the information on it:

Descended from the famous “Letter Series” high-performance (and high luxury) line of large Chryslers that dated back to the 1950s, the 300 convertible had been classed 300 M convertible until 1966, when the “M” was dropped and the car became simply the 300 convertible. It was believed that the letter series designations had become a liability, as sales of these lead-bellied large Chryslers had been flagging for several years.

Still, there would be one last run for glory-It would begin in 1969.

This was the first year for Chrysler’s all-new “fuselage” look, inspired by military aviation – and the 300 convertible displayed it to full effect. Sleek, wide and low, with minimal ornamentation and ready to get down to business. The one-piece wrap-around grille seemed pressed into the front end sheet metal.

No less than a big-block 440 four-barrel powered the 300. It made 350 hp and 480 lbs.-ft of torque. And it was merely the standard engine. Buyers could arm up even more heavily by selecting the optional TNT version of the 440 – and enjoy the bullying force of its 375 hp. A three-speed Torquflite automatic came with either engine.

One of the many things that makes these 300 convertibles so special today was their very low production back in the day. In 1969, only 1,933 were built – vs. 16,075 hardtop coupes and another 14,464 sedans. With a combined two-year production of barely more than 3,000 cars, Chrysler decided to drop the 300 convertible.

* Base price for the ’69 300 convertible was $5,060 vs. $4,714 for the hardtop coupe.

This awesome 300 convertible comes well equipped with power brakes, power top, power steering, power brakes, power windows, and of course the awesome 440/350HP engine. This is a very solid example of what I believe to be the most sought after full size American convertible of the 60s. For the Mopar investor, collector, or enthusiast who appreciates and understands the investment potential of this great American icon how can you go wrong with a beautiful big block numbers matching convertible Mopar?
