1953 Chevrolet 3100. A former South Texas Ranch truck. Originally from the Marble Falls area, I bought this a little while ago and did a few improvements to make it a more enjoyable drive. That 3 on the tree was a nightmare! Original 216 which is how the truck is titled. Door tag in place. Truck is still 6v but an 8v tractor battery is installed. T5 transmission conversion (late 80s Camaro box with the better ratios, S10 tail shaft), new clutch, throw out and pilot bearings, resurfaced flywheel, new driveshaft, 58 Apache rear axle with new rear brakes, new brake master cylinder, lots of new engine parts (points, plugs, wires, cap rotor, carb, gaskets and I have a new advance that I just haven’t put on yet), aluminum radiator. New 7.50/16 radials (no tubes) on 16x4.5 wheel vintique wheels with new caps. Under bed mounted spare tire. Floors replaced, cab corners original and very solid as are the under part of the doors. Older 1970s/1980s replacement wood bed which fits the look of the rest of the truck. Heater works as do the rest of the gauges, but the speedometer does not. I unhooked that for the T5 swap just recently since it has a broken needle (I have a replacement needle) and didn’t want to replace it with a new one. I was planning on getting that fixed. Wipers don’t work and no radio but who cares? A very cool ‘round the town driver which is what this is. You won’t find a more solid 53 to have fun with. I’m moving on to another project so I’m selling this one.
