Description:

1972 Chevrolet C-10

This is nicely preserved, close to original 1972 K20 Cheyenne that spent most of its life out west. Originally delivered in Utah it then spent many years in Colorado where I found and bought it in June 2017.

The truck comes complete with the dealer imprint plate and build sheet.I have some service records from previous owners going back to 1990 which indicate some of the work that’s been done over the years.

-Edelbrock 4bbl carb was installed in 1991 and rebuilt in 2017

-original engine was completely rebuilt and bored 0.040 over in 1996 when a Speed Pro cam, Crane Cams HEI distributor were added

-axles and bearings were replaced/refreshed in 2002

-A/C was modernized to R134a in 2003 with new compressor, expansion valve and dryer

-new exhaust was installed in 2008

-brake calipers and rotors replaced in 2010

-TH350 transmission and torque converter were rebuilt in 2011

-A/C compressor, expansion valve, dryer replaced in 2013

-3-point seatbelts installed in 2014

-rear main seal, crankshaft seal, oil pan gasket, and intake manifold gasket were replaced in 2017

-at some point the seat was reupholstered, new carpet installed and a Sony Bluetooth stereo added

-at some point prior to the previous owner the truck was repainted

-at some point Vortec heads replaced the original

After buying the truck, I added the following:

-new radiator and hoses

-new instrument cluster bezel

-cleaned and refreshed the original gauges, added a tachometer, vacuum gauge and clock, and replaced the ammeter with a voltmeter (I have the original bezel and gauges to go with the truck)

-had a temperature sensor made to fit the Vortec head and function with the original gauge

-replaced the windshield and took the opportunity to have the white on the cab and rear bumper repainted

-refurbished/replaced the heater box and steel control cables

-installed a tilt column (the original column will go with the truck)

-installed LED headlights and changed all other bulbs to LED

-replaced some trim and lamp lenses

-added the Weather Guard toolbox, with remote opening and LED lighting

The truck runs great, sounds great and looks amazing and people gawk and film it all the time.

The paint is not show but it’s very good. It’s bright, shines beautifully with hardly a blemish. The truck is rust-free except for a small area of surface rust under the paint on the inside bottom outer corner of the driver door as shown in the photo. It hasn’t spread in the 8 years I’ve owned the truck and it’s pretty clear to see that it’s not spreading. The truck at some point had auxiliary fuel tanks and trailer wiring. The tanks and wiring is gone but the stainless fill doors remain.

The interior likewise looks amazing. The paint and dash pad are great, the seat upholstery is beautiful and comfortable, and the carpet and headliner look terrific.

The gauges work and look fantastic. When I replaced the gauge cluster bezel, I cleaned up the gauge faces and painted the faded needles.

The odometer currently reads 64,274 which, based on the records I have, may be actual but there’s no way to know.

Everthing works: all the lights, wipers, a/c, windows, locks, gauges, etc.I’m obsessive in that respect and repair things at the first sign of trouble.

I planned to keep this truck but can’t seem to stop building cars and need the space.I also have for sale a 1971 Camaro RS Z/28 clone restomod for sale.I only need to sell one.
