1954 Chevrolet Bel Air – Runs & Drives – Inline 6, Clean Title, Classic Cruiser
1954 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210
Up for auction is a 1954 Chevy Bel Air 4-door sedan. My old man kept this car running for the last 50+ years... this car is not a showpiece, but it is a solid, running classic that's titled, insured, and on the road.
Highlights:
Runs, drives, and stops (see videos)
Original inline 6 engine
3-speed column shift (“three on the tree”)
Bermuda green
Garage-kept, body and frame are in decent shape for its age
Interior and exterior are functional but unrestored
Comes with owners manual, maintenance log, posters, spare parts, roof racks, battery charger, etc. (See photos.)
Pennsylvania title and registration
It’s a bit sad to see it go, but we’re not good at driving it, and don’t want to maintain it. Low starting bid, no reserve, no looking back.
0–60 in just under 20 seconds, according to Popular Mechanics in 1954.
Classic “3-on-the-tree” column shift: synchro between 2nd and 3rd, don’t drop back into 1st unless you’re stopped, or can double-clutch like a champ.
Fender skirts included—because back in ‘54, spending that extra $50 meant your car looked like it was floating through traffic in a tuxedo. (Power steering option, however, was not purchased.)
Garage kept. Motor freshly rebuilt -- in 1973 when Nixon was in office.
~8,300 miles on the odometer – but that's definitely the second trip around.
6V electrical.
Owner’s manual says 1953; apparently they had a lot left over from 1953 and did not print new ones for 1954.
Comes with everything seen in the pictures: car, contents (except for the pine cone my parents picked up on their honeymoon out west), roof racks, poster, second spare wheel, parts, papers, etc.
Pennsylvania title + registration are in hand, in the name of my late father. Insurance is current. PA Title/Registration agency advised against getting the car retitled prior to finding a buyer. This car has only had a few owners – my grandfather’s neighbor bought it new, then my grandfather bought it from him, passed it to my dad, who willed it to my mother. Estate is settled. Short form, death certificate, and anything else needed will be provided for the buyer to get title transferred.
Buyer is responsible for arranging transport. We’re happy to coordinate on our end and ensure it’s ready to load. Sale will be completed on eBay. A $500 non-refundable deposit is due within 48 hours of auction close. Full payment due within 7 days. Payment accepted via bank wire, cashier’s check (must clear before pickup), or cash in person… “no payment, no car”.
We’ve tried to take pictures of everything but had to stay under the 40-photo limit, so if there’s something we missed, or you have any questions, please ask. Photos and videos were taken 3/26/2025.
