1981 Chevrolet Chevette

This rock solid Chevette came from Oregon (no road salt or brine) about 10 years ago. It has a cool vintage look with a burnt orange exterior and black interior. It still has the original floors, a common weak spot, with only surface rust (see underside pics). Recent work includes new master cylinder, front brake pads, and front brake calipers. Also new rear brake shoes, hardware and drum refinishing. A new battery is installed. Replaced intake manifold gasket, starter, and clutch adjustment. New heater core and coolant. Replaced upper and lower radiator hoses. New tires and rear shocks recommended. Windshield has a crack. Original paint shows the years of use.

It runs and drives great and seems to be tuned very well. First gear can be difficult to find at first. The hood release cable is broken, but the hood is easily opened with a screwdriver. The driver’s door handle needs to be repaired as it does not open from the inside. Ashtray is included but broken. No radio.

The carpet is worn or missing under the floor mats. Seat bottoms vinyl is worn or torn under seat covers. The rear seat vinyl is torn at the top edge. Tailgate lift support needs to be replaced.

Overall, this is a great Chevette, and I can’t say I’ve seen any that are much better. I enjoyed owning and driving this car and will miss it. Clear Pennsylvania title in my name, which indicates 52,792 original miles and prior title state OR. I have no other evidence to support this as true mileage.
