The movie was “Greased Lightening” staring Richard Pryor as Wendell Scott. Other cast members were Beau Bridges, Pam Grier, Cleavon Little, Earl Hindman (who drove this car in the movie) and Richie Havens. The movie was filmed in Athens, Georgia at the Athens Speedway in the mid 70s. A friend’s father,Tommy Haynes, owned and raced this car at that time . The movie company leased the car for the film, and Mr. Haynes served as a local consultant. After the filming ended the car was raced locally for a few years and was subsequently left out in his local pasture. As you can see in the “‘before” pictures, it was in pretty bad shape. A few years ago, Mr Haynes, after many years of refusing my offers to buy the car, agreed to sell it to me and I restored it to its original glory. Some of the body panels were too far gone to be used, but all of the parts are here and go with the car. I’ve raced this car locally in vintage display races, and it has appeared in many local car shows and parades. There is a scrapbook with pictures of all the receipts and autographs the family has from the events at the filming
