1972 Chevy El Camino Custom
1972 Chevrolet El Camino Custom
I purchased this vehicle approximately 10 years ago with the intent of just having a fun vehicle to tool around with, and not have to worry about it, hence never painting it. The frame was stripped, painted, and stock chassis components installed. It started out life with me as a 454, 4speed and a 3:55 posi, all built be me. Next came a new Richmond 5 speed which turned out to be a POS, leaking gear lube all over the floor of my shop the day of install. I later pulled that trans, and installed a new Tremec TKX, what a beautiful unit. It currently has approximately 350 miles on it and works perfectly. The initial 454, always having valve train issues, was finally pulled after 8 years, and currently sits with what I suspect are initial machining issues. It has been replaced with Gen Vl BBC, having been built by a local engine builder, and currently has about 550 miles on it. It has the normal go-fast items such as an Edelbrock intake and carb, factory GM performance cam and lifters, aluminum radiator with 3800 cfm electric fan, and headers of unknown make. This thing is a hoot to drive, runs great, and has been very reliable. But life's surprises are forcing me to move on and part ways. I welcome any inspections of the vehicle, and it is currently licensed and insured, and available for road tests. Good luck on the bid process.
