The chevy Impala is a full-sized car that was first built by Chevrolet in 1958 and still built in 2020. For its debut in 1958 the impala was distinguished from other models by its symmetrical triple taillights. 1958 being the first year of the impala, Chevy took the Belair and gave it more power and more trim. Because of it's high demand, Chevy separated the series in 1959. The Impala continues as Chevrolets most popular Full-sized model through the mid 1980's. This 1958 Impala offers a unique X-Frame design making them lower, wider, and longer then other later year impalas. Opportunities like this don't come around very often. It is no great secret that the 1958 Chevy Impala sport coupe has more than doubled in price over the last decade. A true Impala V-8 sports a style # of 1847 on the trim tag and the vin starts with an F for Impala 8 Cyl. Don't be fooled by other fakes online. This impala is the real deal and was born a v8 big block and restored in it's original colors. Which in my opinion, is the best color combination option chevy made. They made no mistakes building this car. I would call this car a show car, this is not your average 10 footer car. I was told by the previous owner that the car was tore down and rebuilt in 2000 before the owner of the vehicle purchased it. He took this car to the next level replacing and rebuilding everything under the hood down to the nuts and bolts. He also restored the interior to look new! Unfortunately, He passed away and I am helping his wife sell this black beauty. The body was professionally redone and while I am not a professional, This car looks awesome! I personally would give this car a 10 out of 10! The high shine is like a mirror and the onyx black paint code 900A that it was originally born with. I was told that the floors and trunk were all repaired, any other rust found was removed and replaced with new sheet metal. A lot of the original floors still remain and have the 1950's thick rust proofing still on them. Under the hood and door jams are painted nicely to match the exterior, and look great with possible minor flaws. Almost all chrome looks to be re-chromed to a brilliant shine and stainless looks to be restored and polished. The doors all open and close like new from both interior and exterior door handles. Door locks on both doors work as they should with keys. Both the hood and trunk work as they should. Windows and glass look like have been replaced with the teal shade glass. Looks like all the window seals were replaced at that time, along with new door seals and window felts. All the glass seems to be in really good shape. I do not see any flaws. All 4 windows roll up and down like they should. The engine is a rebuilt super turbo thrust 348 Big block, 4 barrel carb with 280 horse power. The 348 is the baby sister to the all mighty 409 big block. This engine was professionally remanufactured and bored .30 over. It was completely gone through with new bearings, new gaskets and new seals. Even though, this engine was rebuilt 25 years ago, it is believed to have low miles on it. This car starts right up cold with just 1 pump of the gas and it runs like brand new! This car drives great also. The engine and exhaust sounds great too! The fuel system has been rebuilt with new gas tank and sending unit, and new stainless fuel lines. Recently and new fuel pump and filter were installed along with a complete rebuild of the carb. A new starter and flywheel were installed and a new generator and water pump. It has all new coolant hoses with the Original GM part numbers stamped on them, and original spring clamps to give this car a brand new restored look. This impala came with the upgraded oil bath air cleaner from the factory and has all new fluids. It has stainless steal dual exhaust pipes and cherry bomb mufflers to give this car enough power to glide down the road effortlessly. This Impala was born with a 2 speed power-glide transmission. I was told it was also rebuilt along with the torque converter with new seals and gaskets, new clutches and bearings. The transmission engages in forward and reverse with no delays and shifts so smoothly that you can't tell when it shifts. It is a perfect match to get all that power the engine puts out while you're on the road. This is a power steering car with what looks like a new power steering pump and hoses. Along with a new power valve and ram. I can see it has some newer tie rods and a newer Idler arm. Both front sway bars also look new. The front end was checked and is nice an tight. No funny noises when on the test drive. It has new front and rear coil springs and newer front and rear shocks. This car was born a power brake car with a rebuilt power vacuum brake booster, and master cylinder. All new stainless lines from front to back. I did not pull the drums off to check the brakes but with the looks of this car I believe they have also been replaced. The brakes work great and as they should. The brakes on this car stop this boat with ease. The rims are original 14" steels rims that were repainted silver with period correct looking Coker Classic 3.25" white walls. The front and rear tire size are P215/75R14. They are showing some signs of dry rot. But all seem to hold air with no leaks. The tires still have like new tread with little tits still on them. There is a spare tire located in the trunk and all 4 spinners and stainless hubcaps look to be restored with minor wear. But overall they look great! All of the exterior lights have been checked. The running lights turn on and off with the headlight switch like it should. Brake lights all work like they should. Headlights and high beams all work with the dimmer switch, and the turn signals work as they should. Plate light is not working. The wipers work on high and low speed, and to the best of my knowledge all the gauges work as they should. Even the cigarette lighter works! The original AM radio turns on and works, and the blower motor for the heater works on all 3 speeds and the vents all seem to work as well. I am not sure if the clock work or not but the dash lights light up the gauges with the headlight switch. The glovebox light works and the dome lights turn on and off with both doors and headlight dimmer switch.I was told the interior has been restored with new paint on the front and rear dash panels, and just like the exterior, the chrome and stainless has been restored and polished. This car was restored in the original interior trim code 806, which is Gray, Black, and Turquoise Cloth and vinyl. I was told it has all new seat covers and foam, New carpet, along with new door panels. The headliner has been replaced along with the sun visors. New front seatbelts have also been installed. If you want my opinion, I would give this interior a 10 out of 10! If there is wear and tear, I have not seen it. An exorbitant amount of time, money, and effort was spent on making this Impala into the attractive piece of muscle car history it represents. Please bid appropriately to what you can afford.
