1956 C1 Corvette Frame Off Restoration
1956 Chevrolet Corvette
This car has the period correct look of a50's street cruiser, with a thoroughly modern powertrain and chassisthat lets you drive in confidence anywhere you want to go! The body is all correct Corvette glass from front to back, and was lovingly prepped before being treated to multiple coats of deep, black PPGpaint. Chrome and brightwork was all sent to be restored to LIKE-NEWcondition, and all of the lights, bezels, grille, bumpers, and badging were fully restored or replaced with new items. It sits on black wheels with Corvette dog bowls. Tires areCooper radial tire sized P205/75R15 at all four corners.
Complete Al Knoch Top and Interior was ordered and installed, and from the carpet to the kick panels was BRAND NEW! It shows like new throughout.A custom dash was formed and installed and fit with a fullset of AutoMeter performance gauges to monitor FUEL, WATER, RPM, OILPRESSURE, AMPS, and a CLOCK and AM/FM Radio. Original speedometer was fully restored.Door pulls, window rollers, and all interior trim is either new, or restored to like- new.
With the body separated form the car for paint, the frame wasthoroughly cleaned, and all fab work for the chassis done before itwas sent out to be coated in chassis black. Once it came back, acomplete new suspension system was installed with custom tubularA-Arms, adjustable coil- overs and performance shocks, rack and pinionsteering system, new braking system, and all new performance loweringsprings. All of the steering components, braking components, and bodymounts are all new.
New GM Crate engine fit with OEM style exhaust manifolds, a custom stainless exhaust with performance mufflers and all the requisite modern accessories that you can see in the photos. A mild cam. Jim Myer rear axle is fit with 3.73 gears, 4-speed with HURST short-throw performance shift.
