1969 Corvette 427ci 4-Speed Manual For Sale (PLEASE READ EVERYTHING)
Below I have done my best to describe the condition of this vehicle using documentation from the previous owners. I am the current owner of this vehicle as I inherited this car after one of my very best friend passed away in Sept. I have since had the vehicle serviced and titled in my name.
My friend purchased this Corvette in June 2015 and placed it in storage where it has sat until now. Documentation from the owner (previous to my friend) shows that the transmission was rebuilt in 1982 and the engine was rebuilt at 48,386 miles, and several other replacements/rebuilds were performed as detailed below:
Engine rebuild included the following: Engine VIN: 19S708588, Block # 3963512, Heads 3931063
Cylinders bored 0.030 over
New pistons, cast iron rings
New rod main and camshaft bearings
New camshaft and lifters
New oil, water, and fuel pumps
Complete value job, new exhaust valves, all guides
Other:
Power steering re-build including new control valve, cylinder, hoses, and pump
Starter rebuild, new solenoid
Alternator re-build, new regulator
Brake system restoration/rebuild:
Master cylinder
Stainless steel sleeved calipers
All new flex lines
Pads
Rotors resurfaced
Suspension:
All new A-arm bushings
Upper and lower ball joints
Front and rear sway bar bushings
Rear strut rod bushings
Shocks
Rear spring end-bolt bushings
Both main drive shaft U-joints
I recently had the vehicle serviced by a local automotive shop with all fluids (oil, antifreeze, transmission, rear) being changed, new (remanufactured) Rochester carburetor, new coil, and battery. Vehicle appears to have all matching numbers (according to the Corvette Black Book) except the carburetor and the distributor (still have the original). The car was repainted by the previous owner using non 69 Corvette OEM paint “Cadillac Firemist Metallic Red”, and is not the best paint job and has numerous chips in the paint but still looks nice for a daily driver. Original paint code is 986 (Cortez Silver Irid). The headlights, wipers, and all gauges appear to work properly but the clock and radio are not functioning.
I uploaded a 1 minute video to Youtube of the car running. Just search 69 Corvette 427 4 speed manual or my channel wpalmisa1.
The last entry in my friends logbook is that both the positive and negative battery cables should be replaced. This Corvette would be a great restoration project for the Corvette enthusiast. Clean/Clear title in my name in hand. Thanks for looking.
