The engine, trim and VIN tag are validated by Corvette numbers expert Al Grenning (CCAS), who has been studying engine pads and tags for more than 30 years and is the current Numbers Team Director for Bloomington Gold.

I have been over this Corvette extensively and looked at ALL significant part numbers, cast codes, and date codes. The car has mostly original and correct parts such as: the L72 427-block w/matching numbers & dates, correct dated cast #3873858 heads (probably original), correct dated alternator (probably original), correct List #3247 Holley 780 cfm Carburetor (carburetor is not the original but is the correct carburetor; the date on carb is 1 month newer than the car), correct cast #3885069 & dated Winters aluminum intake (probably original), original VIN matching Muncie M21 transmission, original 4:11 Posi Rear End, and mostly all original parts down to the nuts & bolts as you can see for yourself in the many pics listed. This L72 coupe has the F41 Special front & rear suspension, factory K66 transistorized ignition, and the factory born four inner fender filler goo holes (Big Block cars only). The interior is in good condition, and I believe to be mostly original parts as well other than the Hurst Shifter & Roll Bar (both installed in 1966). It has the RPO N36 Telescopic Steering Column. This car was not ordered with a radio. (Corvettes ordered without a radio did not come with shielding on the distributor and spark plug wires). The doors shuteasyand close with that solid sound that you want. The windows roll up and down nice and smooth. The rolling headlights work in close tandem. The clock is not working. The glass appears to be factory original, with correct date codes except the windshield, which has LOF IZ Code = June 1967.All ofthe original Bonding strips are in place.

The car has cranked easily from a cold start every time during my ownership. It runs great and it pulls strong in every gear. The car sounds great; I replaced the factory mufflers with a pair of Flowmaster Mufflers. The exhaust is 2.5 inlet with 2.25 slash cut exhaust tips. The car cranks, runs, and handles well. This car is the real deal original L72/450hp. It is a survivor still in its work clothes, not painted up, dressed up or covered up. The paint shows its age; however, personally I wouldnt paint this car. It is too cool and nostalgic for that. Its a piece of American history and a huge hit at the car shows, and around the garage for that matter just like it sits!

Following is the story that I gleaned on this Coupe, as it was told to me, by people that were close to the owner of the car from the late 60s until his passing in 2020: This L72 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe, 194376S116349, was special ordered & purchased in 1966 by a doctor living in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania. After the purchase was completed at the dealership, the doctor took his new L72 Stingray to his local paint & body shop. They added the white paint to be a Rally/Autocross car. The doctor then had a roll bar installed. He owned the Corvette for approximately 3 years and put around 1,500 miles on the odometer during that time. He participated in local Autocross events while he owned the car. The next owner was also from Chambersburg. He was a graduate of the Chambersburg Area Senior High School, Class of 1966. He then went on to serve in the United States Navy for 26 years and retired as a Command Master Chief in 1994. He was also a member of the Moline Gold Collectors Association where he served as treasurer. He enjoyed restoring antique tractors, especially the Minneapolis Moline. He enjoyed his Corvette on a limited basis while he was in the Navy. He kept his Stingray in storage in his heated garage. He loved and enjoyed this Corvette for many years. He decided that he was going to drive his Vette to his 50-year class reunion in 2016. With some help from his long-time friend, who also owned a local auto repair shop and a race car guy, the two went over the car; carburetor rebuild, tune, etc. He did drive the car to his 50-year High School Class reunion. Unfortunately, he passed away in December of 2020.

Regarding the mileage on the car. What I have is a copy of an odometer statement, stating that the odometer reading of 49,993 was the original miles on the car dated 5-10-2021; signed by the wife of the second owner. Her deceased (2020) husband owned the car from the late 60s until she sold the car May 10, 2021, (approx... 52 years ownership). I also have copies of the two titles after that and prior to my ownership, showing original miles on the car. 1. PA title (49,999 miles) and 2. SC title (50,557 miles), as well as the current GA title registered to me, which also states that the mileage shown is the original miles (50,561 miles). The current odometer reading is 50,600. Regarding the heads on the car. I pulled the valve covers and inspected and photographed the casting numbers, date codes, and markings on the heads. Both heads are correct 3873858 Hi Perform X heads. The drivers side date code is B266 (Feb 26), passenger side date is B86 (Feb 8). Pictures in Photo Album.

This nostalgic Corvette Coupe is super cool to cruise around and draws plenty of attention at the car shows. I have a clear, clean, original miles, Georgia title registered in my name.

This is a pinnacle 66 factory high performance limited production coupe, that has retained its most critical irreplaceable components (verified nonetheless), it is NOT in need of significant mechanical work in fact can blast down the highway today. For the most part, this Corvette has survived the perils, abuses, fads, and restorations common to most Corvettes.Despite aperiodcustom paint job and modifications, this is as nice an unrestored original type Special High PerformanceC2 as Ive seen.
